Official Statement
After careful consideration of all the facts, The Government of Ireland has decided to authorize the implementation of a trade embargo directed at the Federal Republic of Germany on the grounds that Germany in its given capacity is once more attempting to destabilize the Balkans at the expense of the new regime in Serbia. We have and bear no ill will towards Germany and simply wish to see the restoration of peace, something which cannot be accomplished through armed confrontations with the armed forces of Serbia. That having been said, from this day forth Ireland shall no longer permit the entry of German merchant vessels into its territorial waters nor shall it allow for their protection at sea or the selling of uts commodities in Irish stores. Those vessels attempting to enter Ireland's territorial waters in order to circumvent the embargo will be sunk without hesitation. Vessels of German origin currently enjoying the hospitality of Irish ports shall be given 10 days to begin their departure from Ireland to their port of origin. Failure to comply will result in the impounding of the vessel in question and the detainment of the crew.
Let it be perfectly clear that Germany's actions will have dire consequences and shall warrant an economic response. No tolerance or quarter is to be extended to Germany and should intervention be pursued against the wishes of Serbia a response may become necessary beyond the realm of economy.
