The Prime Minister would hang up trying to ring the United States and would pick up the incoming call from Argentina.

"Good evening, this is Minister Daniel Osvaldo, in representation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Argentina, with whom do I have the pleasure?

"The Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau."

"Prime Minister, I did not expect speaking directly with you, it is an honor. I would like to address you in regard of the Summit and your offer to intercede between my nation and the French Republic. We would like to thank you for your generous offer to act as middleman and let you know a little more insight about the current unfolding of events and situation, if you have the time of course."

 

[Owen]

"I'm very well aware of the events that have taken place, not so much maybe the situation of your plans and military movements, but I'm here as someone to look to the future and not dwell on what happened in the past. We understand that there was events that unfolded with France previous to your announcement of war, but we need to find a solution and finding a solution will not happen if we're pointing fingers as to why we're here in the first place. We're talking about people's lives here and while we mourn of your loss in Alexandria, we cannot have anymore bloodshed. We need to settle this matter and I hope both your Presidents can make their way to Ottawa."

 

[Naio90]

"We agree 100% with what you've just said. Let me tell you that since the beginning of this situation, we were negotiating with France for his personnel to leave the aircraft and go to a hangar we had specially accomodated for his people before returning them to their country, when decided to go on "terrorist mode" and bomb themselves, we had all intention to negotiate.

The french minister himself told us that if the situation would have been the other way around "they would have shot down the aircraft withouth hesitation". We showed good faith from the beginning on and we only got ourselves called monkeys, retards and much worse things.

When we started our operations, the french president himself called us, and tried to pay us off. When we told him that we could talk about a settlement and made our first offer, he again insulted us and told us that it was all our fault and demanded "2000 billion USD" from us.

You might now understand why, at this very moment, we have no interest in sitting down with France to talk about anything. We gave them the chance to talk and negotiate, twice. It ended with dozens of argentine citizens dead, our President being called a lier and my nation tagges as retard monkeys.

Rest assure however that we will not interfere with any neutral nation."

"We understand the situation, but we have no reason and neither should you, to believe that the orders to do such a thing came from higher up, dare I say the President. This could've been an irrational decision made by what are simply young boys in the French Army. However, the way that the French Minister conducted himself is most unprofessional and they should've right there apologised for what happened in Alexandria and pay compensation for the actions of their soldiers. We have no reason to believe that orders for such an act would've come from the French Cabinet.

What seems to be the issue here is rather the people who were elected to the leadership in France. I'm sure their attitudes do not reflect the attitudes of the French people and the attitudes of alternative government who may come to power in France. Just between me and you, Canada would be more than willing to see President Macron and his cabinet resign over this situation. The way they have conducted themselves are not what we expect of France, which is nothing but professionalism. But this issue is deeper than just Macron and his ministers. This has global geopolitical ramifications and the only people who would suffer will be the people of France. This is why we need you to come to the table and negotiate, rest assured Mr. Osvaldo, I will be doing most of the talking given the recent negotiation attempts with Macron have fallen through. Dare I say, we might have to put him in the child's play area."

The Prime Minister would chuckle.

"But yes, we do not want to see French people suffer over this, either be through death, injury or just being subjected to military occupation. I'm not sure of your plans, but if Argentina were to start seizing French possessions overseas or rather, metropolitan France itself, it would be seen as a grave threat to the ISAF-aligned bloc. I understand why Argentina has national security concerns and we understand your ideological differences with ISAF and to an extent, ourselves, but you must'nt stretch it too far otherwise.... it might snap. We've already given you a warning about Saint Pierre and Miquelon and I'm afraid an invasion of metropolitan France would spook the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, French Caribbean would spook the United States and also those other two given their territories in the region, French South Pacific would spook Australia and New Zealand and as I've said already we would not accept an upset of the power hegemony of Australia and New Zealand in that region. If you have invasion plans, we would ask you to put them on hold so we can come to Harrington Lake and discuss this. As I said, it'll be different because I will be there and believe me Mr. Macron will behave himself in my presence. I am very fluent in French so I can swear right to his face."

"Argentine people suffered, families were tored appart due to the actions condoned by the french Government. I never saw an apology from their authorities, quite the contrary...

As for your threats regarding ISAF, we are not concerned about what their actions might be, as Argentina is acting in retaliation for an unprovoked french attack. This is a bilateral matter between Argentina and France, and so it shall remain. We know our capabilities, priorities and options and will act according to that we consider the most beneficial for argentine interest.

Again, you Government or any other european country should not be concerned about this strictly bilateral affair, as they won't be affected.

We thank you again for your offer, but we do not intend to sit down with any french representative at this moment and under these circumstances."

"Minister, you are taking my words completely out of context. I am condemning the French for not apologising. They should've apologised. We mourn your loss as well. I was not at any point threatening you regarding ISAF, I was giving you a blunt assessment of the situation and the geopolitical situation to make sure that Argentina is wary of the global effect of its actions. We do not want to see a global war, I'm sure neither do you, but actions have consequences. You continuously say this is a bilateral matter, but that is unfortunately not within your power to control. If other nations feel the need to get involved then that will happen, which is something we do not want to see. Frankly, we are concerned, especially because capturing French territories will basically be a form of Argentinian Imperialism. We are concerned with France's actions as well, which is why Canada is inviting you to sit down with us and discuss this.

If you would like, we can sit down together, just us two, without the French present. If we can strike a deal we will bring it to France and persuade them to agree. Canada will be acting in what is the best interest of the world, not just France."

"So, french imperialism is ok, but argentine operations abroad are not? Thats a little hypocritical to say... Also, who said we plan to take territory and keep it for ourselves?

We are well aware by now how the world and the international community works, and we sincerely hope that everybody understands that the involvement of third Parties will surely drag more parts into the conflict on both sides, something nobody wants.

We would love to sit down and talk, but we are tired of having to see how other nations keep being protected when they mess up, and when some others even attempt to do something, fleets are assembled and threats are launched.

Do not get me wrong, we praise and welcome your interest in finding a peaceful solution, but history and recent events are too much for this at the moment."

"I did not say French Imperialism is okay. Canada would like to see an end to France's extended territorial possessions, but we do not want to see it transfer from one country to another. Places like New Caledonia have been crying out for independence and Canada supports them. As for Saint Pierre and Miquelon, I think a referendum should take place there to find out what those residents would like to do, possibly join Quebec. Now I'm not saying you are going to do that, but Argentina's prowess to take territory is not something new. It's also a fair assessment to say that French Guiana is first on your hit list, no? Anyway, we're not ones to judge. If anything we would expect some settlement between France and Argentina to end with French Guiana being transferred to Brazil.

We are not protecting France. Well we are, but only Saint Pierre and Miquelon and that's due to more broader strategic reasons than "protecting France", that's more to do with protecting Canada. We believe that the French Government should absolutely be held accountable for its actions, which is why we want to sit down and work out exactly what form that should take. But as we said, this situation is blowing out of proportions. Me and you are both uncertain as to what happened in Alexandria, there hasn't even been an investigation. We're not convinced that an order to suicide bomb the aircraft came from the French President himself or anyone in the French cabinet. This could've been a completely irrational decision by those French soldiers on the ground. But yes, the attitude that the French Government took immediately after the incident is very condemnable and they should absolutely apologise not just for their own actions but for the actions of their soldiers in Alexandria.

So please, come to Ottawa, sit down with just me, you don't need to worry about Macron being in the room and let's start this ball rolling. I'll buy you a beer."

"We are aware of the situation of Saint Pierre and Miquelon, and after hearing your repeated comments about those islands we know that you are particularly concerned about its future.

This is a war. We do not know what will happen in the future, as we might be forced to adapt in response to the actions of the enemy, but the plans we have today for many of the french territories is either starting processes of independence, or seeing them transfered to nearby nations to end colonialism. Saint Pierre and Miquelon included."

"We would like such a process to go through the General Assembly, rather than Argentina being judge, jury and executioner. As I said, let's talk in person about this."

 

[Naio90]

"We would have accompanied such meassure before. But things have changed, we are at war now and we will go through with this in the swiftest way possible.

We appreciate your concerns, and we do not close the door for attending to your Meeting in the future. Actually, we would like to keep this line of dialogue open.

The Republic of Argentina has the right to pursue justice after being attacked unprovoked. Thats our formal position."

 

[Owen]

"We understand that, but how certain are you that you were actually attacked by the French state and not just rogue French soldiers? This is what I've been saying to you but you've skimmed over the details. We need things to halt, to calm down, we need an investigation to the incident because as I said, we do not know the full facts. It could've been a fuel leak in the aircraft for all we know."

 

[Naio90]

"We were having an investigation, when the french decided to play the fireworks. We already had told the french that we were releasing their personnel once formalities were done.

Also, I'll quote the french foreign Minister Yves Le Drian:

"Sorry the bomb has went off. The discussion is over. Good luck cleaning up the mess. I am tired to continue to entire discussion. Game over. -Communication terminated- "

Sounds as he was well aware of what was happening... Might I remind you that we never mentioned any bomb, but the Minister knew... that the whole situation was recorded by the airport security camera and that we had a military police officer on board who alerted us from the attempt to blow up the plane before dying in the explosion."

"Hmm, that is VERY concerning what the Minister has said. Inevitably, this makes our resolve to see the current French Government tossed out of office and to see some form of compensation paid by the French state to the victims families and the economic loss of your assets. We will be in discussions with the French to get them to properly resolve this. This is why we need to sit down with, to discuss what's going to happen. Right now, you're not telling me what your plans are, which is concerning. So we're not entirely sure what is going to happen. But we need a resolution which is good for not only Argentina but the entire world."

 

[Naio90]

An aide would whisper something to Ambassador Osvaldo.

"President Trudeau, I fear I have to end this call. I have reasons to believe you are pursuing your own agenda here. Thank you for trying. Good night."

 

[Owen]

"Alright then, you can believe what you will. But if you want to quote me on it, our only agenda is world peace. Goodnight Mr. Osvaldo."

The Prime Minister would hang up.
