Official Statement of the Republic of Argentina ​ The Republic of Argentina wishes to thank all nations who publicly and privately commited their support and prayers to our country. We hope that this conflict does not extend beyond the necessary. We have been recently contacted by the Government of France, which attempted to pay Argentina to halt our attempt towards justice and retribution. The French President was very interested in stopping hostilities, and was willing to throw in money, money that it doesnt even have, considering it has to take out loans with foreign institutions to mantain its country afloat. In return, Argentina made a first offer, for peace which not only was painly disregarded by France, but we had to endure once again a hostile foreign official denigrating us and interrupting the conversation they started in the middle of waves of lies and twisting of facts. In this message, addresing the international community, we want to reassure to all sides that this conflict is only between Argentina and France, and that we have no intention to involve other nations in a needless acts of escalation. Argentina will respect international trade and neutrally flagged vessels, and we guarantee that no foreign sovereignty beyond the french will be breached. Should any particular concern arise, we invite all neutral Parties to contact our Government.

Global Affairs Canada would release a statement.

"The Government of Canada asks Argentina to avoid seizing Saint Pierre and Miquelon, if it attempts to it then Canadian Forces as a part of Operation Hamlet will engage. Canada does not view Argentina with the same regard as it does other nations and so Argentina gaining a foothold 20 kilometres away from the Newfoundland coast is a grave threat to Canada's national security and sovereignty in the area. Canada has worked constructively with France for many years in terms of Saint Pierre and Miquelon, it cannot be said that the same would happen if it was under Argentine Administration. Canada, being a Commonwealth brother and close friend of Australia and New Zealand would also urge Argentina to avoid South Pacific colonies of France, as to not upset the peaceful hegemony of Australia and New Zealand in that region."
