Requirement for Foreign Air Transport Air Operators Certificate |
In accordance with Section 26(1) of the Civil Aviation Act (1988), an aircraft arriving in Australian territory from a place outside Australian territory or; departing from Australian territory for a place outside Australian territory must not do so except with the permission of CASA. A Foreign air transport air operators certificate (FATAOC) may authorise the operation of a foreign registered aircraft on flights into, out of or within Australian territory that are not regulated domestic flights. (Civil Aviation Act, 1988, 27AE (4.a)). Airlines must give the following details to CASA in order to gain a Certificate: - Airline name - Country of registration - Fleet and Size (of Aircraft intended to be used to fly to Australia) - Airports flying to in Australia - Will the airline be transporting dangerous goods? - Company contact Please consult: Civil Aviation Safety Authority for information on operating aircraft in Australia. |
