The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) would make it known to airlines all over the world that in accordance with Section 26(1) of the Civil Aviation Act (1988), an aircraft arriving in Australian territory from a place outside Australian territory or; departing from Australian territory for a place outside Australian territory must not do so except with the permission of CASA. A Foreign Air Transport Air Operators Certificate (FATAOC) may authorise the operation of a foreign registered aircraft on flights into, out of or within Australian territory that are not regulated domestic flights. (Civil Aviation Act, 1988, 27AE (4.a)).
As a result, all foreign airlines operating into and out of Australian territory have 14 days to submit their registration for a Foreign Air Transport Air Operators Certificate. This will allow for the management and control of Australian airspace and maintaining a register of foreign airlines operating into Australia. The following form would be required to be filled out:
Airline name: | i.e. British Airways |
Country of registration: | i.e. United Kingdom |
Fleet operating to Australia: | i.e. Boeing 747-400ER, Airbus A340-400 |
Airports flying to in Australia: | i.e. Sydney-Kingsford Smith, Melbourne-Tullamarine |
Contact person: | |
