The Prime Minister of Australia has directed me to touch base with your office in order to officially request a state visit by Xi Jinping to Australia. We recognise the economic clout of the People's Republic and value your government as a natural trading partner for the Commonwealth. We would be honoured to have your president become the first leader in the new government to visit the Commonwealth and meet with the Prime Minister and other important dignitaries.
