Dear Your Majesty, I am writing you to inform you that His Excellency The Honourable Sir Robert James Lee Hawke has announced his intention to retire from the role of Governor-General of Australia. We have decided that his replacement shall be the current Governor of Queensland, Her Excellency The Honourable Quentin Bryce. To replace her in her role as Governor of Queensland, the Premier of Queensland The Honourable Peter Beattie, MP, has informed me that Penelope Wensley, the former Australian Permanent Representative to the Global Assembly, shall be her replacement.
