COMMANDER AMERICAS BRANCH |
SECURITY CLASSIFICATION: TOP SECRET (ENCRYPTED) |
1 February 2004 |
Dear Commissioner Zaccardelli, The Attorney-General recently requested that all relevant Australian government departments across federal, state and territory governments, search for and identify possible relevant communications and evidence held in their archives that would incriminate the French Government in the terrorist attacks against Canada last year and then pass on this evidence to the Australian Federal Police. The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade found one communique with the French Government from 2001 which may be of interest to the RCMP and the AFP has determined it of interest and to pass it on to the RCMP (ATTACHMENT: https://modernnations.com/threads/australia-message-to-france-sec-secret.25309/). The Defence Security and Vetting Agency has allowed for the complete declassification of all Australian Government material in this communique for the RCMP and Canadian Government only. Passing on this classified information to any other agency would be considered a criminal offence. Please do not hesitate to contact the Australian Federal Police at our Americas Branch in Washington D.C. should you require any further assistance with your investigations. Yours sincerely, Commander Andrea Quinn. |
