Once ensured the phone call was encrypted the Defense Minister would make a call to the MOFA office in Santiago.

It may have been heavy-handed, but it is your right. And it is quite en vogue now in Europe, except there they attack other countires' embassies just for disagreements with one of their allies. I say you have a friend in Brazil, and if you ever need us for anything do not hesitate to call. I would also urge you to contact Argentina, I am sure you will hear the same from the them.
