Issue 1, Volume 1: A response to Pro Patria

In the days since the tragic crackdown facilitated by the metropolitan police supposedly under orders from the Soviet of People's Representatives, Our Editorial staff has swamped by incoming letters from our subscribers most of which seem to be aimed at trying to understand the events as they unfolded on the ground while at the same time drawing attention to what seems to be a bourgeoise national conservative publication calling itself Pro Patria an obvious reference to their political leanings as supporters of the old order. We shall offer our take on things in this edition, enjoy!

Claim: "The newly formed Soviet seems to have copied more than just name of the Soviet Union, but also the authoritarian tactics of fear and force that the Soviets employed."

Reality: The Soviet of People's Representatives has nothing to do with nor is it in any shape or form associated with the USSR or the tactics employed by said nation in the name of the Russian Proletariat between 1917 and 1991.

Claim: "In early November Belgians gathered for a peaceful, lawful protest against the communist government, They sought to exercise their basic freedoms and liberties as citizens in a modern society."

Reality: No one is here to dispute the otherwise peaceful and civilised intentions of the public in response to the abolition of the monarchy by the communist regime, however it should be noted that pro patria made no attempt to contact the police department and arrange for issuing of permits prior to the day demonstrations were due to take place, furthermore, on the day of the demonstrations the police department received at least five complaints from the public about an illegal assembly obstructing the local throughfare and disturbing the peace. When the police arrived, they were jeered at and spat upon by the protestors who also made it clear that they would no disperse as previously requested after which the police requested backup. SWAT teams showed up within an hour as protests became tense and provocative prompting the teams to use lethal rounds, a practice frowned upon.

Claim: "This government, however, has made it clear that freedoms and liberties are dead in Belgium."

Reality: The Government, has maintained a policy of devolution with respect to the presence of law and order in society. As Brussels is a municipality with the right to local self government the metropolitan police force is not affilitated with any political organizations nor is affilitated with the federal government beyond its liasons. On another note, the metropolitan police force has not swore its alliegence to the new regime and has instead opted to stay apolitical as is the case with other police departments. Civil Liberties are to be upheld without distinction.

Claim: The protesters marched towards the building where the Soviet of People's Representatives met with the intention of peacefully demonstrating. Within moments of arriving, and without any provocation, the communists opened fire on the protesters. Dozens are reportedly dead and hundreds wounded. People were shocked and in awe about the swiftness and forcefulness of the government response. The attack was unwarranted, illegal, and against all notions of modern government. Not a single report of violence on behalf of the protesters has surfaced. The government did not even allow the protesters to become violent because their violence occurred so quickly.

Reality: several locals in the general area near the Soviet were reported as having peacefully protested in the vacinity of traffic and were later seen blocking the entrance point into the Soviet when asked by security to vacate the premises the protesters refused and were thus shot by those there at that time. The communist government received no notification of any demonstrations taking place and so decided not to act until information could verified. it is clear that the police acted in a forceful manner without the authorization of the communist government.

The Government has yet to release a statement on the matter.

After carefully accessing the damage done to Belgium's reputation on the world stage, the Soviet in the face of conservative political rallies and widespread demonstrations demanding the resignation of four high ranking government officials and justice for the poor souls butchered by the metropolitan police in Brussels has decided to grant the people concessions as requested. These concessions will for all its worth will in term serve as the foundation for the bulding of socialism in our country. Workers do your bid by voting in the upcoming referendum and elections to the Soviet.

In Brazil, the workers suffered a crucial blow today as members of the communist and socialist factions of the leftist coalition known as Democracy Now! Were officially prohibited from taking their seats in parliament.

With such calamities as these in a world plagued the evils of reactionary politics and neo liberal economics one might be compelled to ask the question of what is to be done?

If we may be permitted to be frank, the answer to this question can be easily be found in pursuing a platform of absentionism from contesting elections and cease participation in the bourgeois national assembly in favour of establishing democratic worker councils and strike committees with the long term goal being revolution.

However until that time comes, let us voice forevermore our heartfelt solidarity with our fellow workers in Brazil.

We ask that our readers pitch in a few Francs for donation to a mutual aid fund going to support their cause, the cause of democracy and revolutionary class struggle. Furthermore we ask that you partake in the boycott of products made in Brazil or be little more than a class traitor acting as a scab in service of our exploiters!

WORKERS OF THE WORLD, UNITE!!!!

Yesterday afternoon, the People's Temporary Administration (PTA) sent a delegation from the Ministry of Defense to an auction held in Sweden for military naval hardware entering retirement. In the span of half an hour nearly 6 billion Francs were been purged from the national treasury to acquire a single Osami Class Tank Landing Ship originally priced 500,000,000.00 due to production costs and all for what? To defend the revolution? No. Not even.

When we look at those currently empowered by the democratic imperative mandate of the working class in this country, we can't help but feel betrayed and frankly embittered at what we know to be the last straw. When we meant revolutionary change then we meant to empower the people and improve their over all quality of life, how quickly it was that these promises magically faded away as those in office squandered what could've been used to build new homes for workers and their families, to fund programs designed to instruct citizens in the cultivation and good stewartship of land, and to provide direction to the societal transformation we had for years dreamed up in our heads.

The working class has a choice: either let these fools have their way with the people's money or we can work with our ideological rivals to step the country straight and end this monstrousity to preserve the ideas of the revolution!

In Portugal, the workers fight alone....sorrounded by all the trappings of a bourgeoise society and a capitalist mixed market economy in the early stages of decay.

We kindly ask our subscribers to donate $5 or higher to provide these brave militants with the funds for the procurement of arms and medicine through the April Edition of Communisme Van De Raad.

The Communist Workers Organisation, The Revolutionary Federation of Organised Autonomous Labour, and The Association of Marxist Internationalists have pooled together their resources and funding to assemble a brigade of 5,000 volunteers to go fight in Portugal with our comrades in arms

Lets win the fight and lay the foundation for a better world!
