DIPLOMATIC CABLE TO UNITED KINGDOM

To the Honourable British leadership,

I hope this message above all else finds you well, the communications in this cable could be one of the greatest actions taken in history to reduce world poverty. As you know India right now is one of the poorest countries in the world most people only grow what they will eat; over 80% of the population lives on under 2 American dollars a day. We are at a similar level of development as your country was in the late 1600s. With Asian economic success stories such as that of Japan, Singapore, South Korea, and China. I am planning on announcing a wave of reforms and liberalization. This is where the United Kingdom comes in, what I am seeking is to negotiate a trade agreement in which industry can be exported to India in which our workers can work for very cheap wages compared to Western workers. Trade to help us improve agricultural efficiency which will cause a loss of jobs for farmers who will then be ripe to move into working the new industrial jobs. One day India seeks to be a strong capitalist democracy that shines as a beacon of economic and social freedom just like the United Kingdom. I am open to virtually any concessions or agreements you want as apart of this deal. I am reaching out to several developed regional powerful countries in hopes for one day joining that category.

Dear Prime Minister Vajpayee,

Firstly, congratulations on your new position as Prime Minister and thank you for reaching out, working with India and developing relations would be of great interest and hopefully mutually beneficial for both our countries.

Trade discussions are certainly something we would be happy to participate in but perhaps ideal to do over a phone call, or a meeting in person. This would serve as a good opportunity to establish a good baseline for what we would expect from not just trade, but options for cooperation in other fields if desirable.

Whatever you want meeting in person or a phone or anything that allows us to negotiate and establish good relations. I can assure you we will both see good out of this. I am very excited for what we may see 30, 20 or even 10 years from now with enough time work and corporation. Our children and grandchildren will see the future we will built one day our colonial past will be nothing more than a bad memory and the modern day will matter forever more.
