OPERATION SUNRISE Classified Information |
Operation Background |
---|
After the private meeting with the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt and his cabinet, it was decided that an intervention in Sudan was required to stabilize the nation and guarantee the water-safety of Egypt. The nile river is essential to the egyptian economy and society and cannot be left under the control of warlords and dictators. Before any military operation is launched, and in order to reduce civilian and military casualties to the lowest point possible, an intelligence operation will be carried out to identify prime military targets and take them out in a first, devastating, strike, shortening the fightings. The National Intelligence Directoratewill be in charge of the operation, employing its best field agents to infiltrate Sudan and gather information of military value. |
