Foreign Ministry, Federal Republic of Germany
As the sun began to rise over Berlin and as it began to rise so too did the Germans in the city as they got ready for work. The Republic of Korea Embassy would already be up and running as the sun just barely began to peak over the horizon of the city. At the Korean Embassy in Berlin, the Embassy would be anticipating the arrival of a special parcel from the Foreign Ministry back in Seoul. At the front desk the receptionist would be sitting with her eyes almost closed from being awake so early in the morning. Her fellow receptionist could not hold his eye open either as the two tried their best to stay awake. They had been asked to arrive earlier than the others and prepare the Embassy. Checking the water coolers, cleaning the toilets, checking the network and giving a list of visitors and guests to the Embassy to the front gate. They would compile a list of items the Ambassador would have to do that day, relay information and intelligence back to the Foreign Ministry, and clear the online systems. The day would progress almost as if time had stopped, the reception team almost beat out. As they rested for a bit, the Ambassador would walk in with his staff. His motorcade still waiting outside as he stepped into the building. He smiled and waved to his two staffers already on site. The two would stand up as the door opened and bowed as the Ambassador walked in, greeting him as he smiled and excitedly asked them if the parcel had arrived from Seoul. The two staffers could only try to hold back their own smiles as the Ambassador's energy emitted from him onto them.

The female staffer picked up a parcel still wrapped from under desk as she handed it to the Ambassador respectfully as he took it respectfully and thanked them as he went into his office to open the first package addressed to him. As he opened the package, it seemed to any onlooker as just a small book. Unwrapping it, he smiled as he read the note Director Park had written for him before placing the item in inside his desk. He picked up the second one and pulled out his briefcase as he carefully put it inside with his work files. As the Ambassador left, the Security at the Embassy would complete their sweep of the residence a daily routine. Before checking the mission for any bugs or wiretapping and cleared the Ambassadors office. The Chief of the Mission security would sit in his office alone as he reviewed a list of threats and notices from the German government and from the Foreign Ministry. He had the unfortunate job of worrying about the Korean Embassy in Kyiv and was working to coordinate the regional security efforts of Central Europe with his Eastern Europe-responsible counterpart at the Embassy in Kyiv. No doubt the rise in communist sentiment across the continent was a source of concern especially if North Korea used it to conduct covert operations to kidnap or otherwise harm South Korean nationals.

The Ambassador would thank his staff and exit the mission and go to his motorcade where his German security and Korean bodyguards were waiting. He got into his government vehicle as he headed to the German Foreign Ministry. The drive to the Foreign Ministry was not long, Reading some morning briefings, updates on Korean-German Trade, being updated on the situation with Japan & Denmark, and also the proposals underway at the Nordic Council summit. He would adjust his tie as he picked up the parcel and was excited to share it. The motorcade would arrive at the front gate of the Federal Foreign Ministry of Germany where it was inspected before let in. His security would cooperate as they entered the premise and would wait outside for the Ambassador with his personal bodyguard entering the premise with the Ambassador. Ambassador Kim Jaeshin would arrive early at the German Foreign Ministry after scheduling a meeting with the Foreign Minister had been arranged. Arriving at the reception he would greet the receptionist as he gave her his name and waited to be let in to see the Foreign Minister.

Klaus Kinkel arrived to his office early that morning. He didn't even have time to make coffee before he left his home. So when his motorcade arrived at the Foreign Ministry, he only had two things on his mind...Ambassador Kim Jaeshin and a cup of black coffee. He came through reception and took the elevator up to the second floor to check and make sure the grand conference room had been prepared for the meeting with Ambassador Kim Jaeshin. When the doors opened, two of his aides were waiting to greet him. His senior aide, a young blonde woman named Erika, was holding a short stack of files containing news and information from various government offices. The other aide, a short mustached man named Hans, was holding a tall plastic cup with a lid on it. Klaus eagerly took the coffee from Hans and motioned to Erika to show him to the conference room. The conference room had been laid out exactly how Klaus had instructed the night before. The South Korean and German Flags both draped over poles at the head of grand polished oak conference table. A full spread of German pastries had been arranged on the far end of the table. Lots of beautiful plants had been brought in from a local nursey to give the room a tranquil vibe. Satisfied that the conference room was up to his highest standard, He instructed Erika to inform him the moment the Ambassador arrived. He walked back to elevator alone and up to the fifth floor where his office was located. He sat down in his large leather chair to finish his coffee and review the itemized agenda for the up coming meeting.

It wasn't long before Erika called up to Vice Chancellor Kinkel's office to inform him about the arrival of Ambassador Kim Jaeshin. He told her he was on his way. He quickly took the last sip of his now cold coffee and headed for the door. Before leaving he checked himself out in a mirror just to make sure he was looking his professional best. He gave himself a wink and headed down to the elevator. When he arrived down at the lobby he saw that Erika was already with the ambassador, as was the embassy translator, an older gentleman by the name of Karl. Vice Chancellor Kinkel' smiled as he walked up to the ambassador. He have a small bow before reaching out to shake his hand. "Ambassador Kim Jaeshin! Its so great to see you again." admired the Vice Chancellor. They both exchanged pleasantries before Erika escorted them both back to the conference room. Whilst they walked, the Vice chancellor noticed the parcel that the ambassador had been clutching and wondered what on earth might be hiding underneath the paper wrapping. Suddenly, He he remembered about the gift he had gotten for the Ambassador. He leaned into the ear of Erika to make sure it was prepared. She nodded reassuringly. As they entered the room the Vice Chancellor offered the Ambassador the full table of sweet pastries and any of the coffee or tea that was now arranged around some very nice porcelain mugs. "Is there anything else I can get you before the meeting starts ?" asked Erika to both men.

At the front desk, Ambassador Kim waited briefly before the German receptionist led the Ambassador towards the elevator and accompanied him to the conference room. His personal bodyguard accompanying him as the other two agents waited for the next elevator. Once arriving on the conference room floor, the three exited and would be greeted by the German Foreign Minister giving a respectful bow after which the Foreign Minister gave his small bow the two men shook hands as they walked towards the conference room. Being let in, the German lady and an elder man would be with the Ambassador while his security detail remained in the lobby or nearby the conference room. Getting to know their names, and having already met Erika before, but meeting the translator for the first time. He would have a pleasant chat in Korean with Karl as they got settled down.

The Ambassador would thank his German hosts for the hospitality as he asked for a glass of strawberry juice, he had grown quite in love with the German locally produced fruits. Especially their strawberries and peaches, sending back to Korea where his daughter joined his little fan club. The Ambassador's parcel would be taken out of the briefcase as he prepared to give the German Minister a special gift. Allowing his hosts to get the meeting kick started. A largely informal meeting without a big agenda, still, the two friends would have to mask their little exchange of gifts with official discussions.
