Your Excellency,

I hope you find yourself well and in good health. In light of the treaty between our two states and your own ties with the Turkish state, I am hereby sending you this message to formally notify you of the developing situation between the French and Turkish states. While I have no doubt you are already well aware of these matters, I felt it befitting our ties to still notify you directly as well.

As you know the Turkish state and the Holy See have recently been in conflict over the Hagia Sophia. While frankly this is a battle in which France had no horse, this changed when the Turkish state so blatantly disregarded a commitment to the Holy See and targeted this most holy institution. In light of this there simply is no way the French state could engage with the Turks while this dispute was ongoing. We notified the Turkish state that we would generally be open to a formal relationship but that we could not do so while the dispute was ongoing. My government did not take any further action with regards to the Turkish state until they recently expelled the French ambassador from Ankara and closed their own diplomatic presence in France. As far as we can tell this happened entirely without provocation, and their stated reason simply did not happen.

Then the recently announced Exclusion Policy posed a direct violation of French rights under multiple binding multilateral agreements and other sources of international law.

The Empire of France does not seek escalation with the Turkish, and we have no plans to engage in military action with them. However if they take action against any French citizen or vessel, we will be left with no choice.

We hope the Republic of Thailand understands our position in this matter, and if there is any role you can play in diverting the Turkish state from this path of self-destruction we would appreciate it.

I thank you for your correspondence to my office during a tough time. I appreciate your commitment to the Harmonious Accord between our nations.

I have been well-informed of the escalating tension situated in the West. While Thailand has not taken a particularly strong stance against any side, our Government has been closely observing the unfolding situation.

The Ottoman Empire, formerly the Republic of Turkey, was also one of the signatories of the Hamornious Accord which focuses on democratic governance. In recent months, there has been a degrading quality of the Turkish democratic institution, which has resulted in the reformation of the Ottoman Empire.

To address it frankly, I concur with you that there needs to be action taken toward the current Ottoman situation. We have degraded their national status by withdrawing them from the upcoming joint special forces exercise. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is currently reassessing our international strategy in the Middle East.

I wish to inform you that I will be on a secure, private phone call with the Ottoman sultan soon. My focus would be addressing the situation and the Ottoman new policy diplomatically yet proactively.
