[Great Britain]: Call with Madagascar

The Government of Madagascar has been invited to a video call with a Minister from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss relations, and a proposal surrounding a military exercise. Minister Darren Wood patiently waited on the opposite side of the phone, notes in front of him with the agenda:

- Free Trade Agreement
- Military Training Exercise
- Support for Africa

After initially missing the call, The Minister of Foreign Affairs in Madagascar reopens the call with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The call is secured and encrypted by technicians at the Ministry.

 

[Jamie]

The British Minister, Darren would, answered the call eagerly. "Hello, thank you for returning my call. My name is Darren Wood, I work for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on behalf of Her Majesty's Government. How are you today?". Darren was enthusiastic, his first real assignment that could shape the relationship of an oversea country.

 

[Nathan]

"I am excellent thank you. It is good to hear from you Mr Wood. I am Marc Rajakoba, Minister of Foreign Affairs. We've long been awaiting a chance to open relations with the UK"

 

[Jamie]

"Pleasure to speak with you, Mr Rajakoba" responded the British Representative. "The relationship between Britain and Madagascar have been near non-existent. I do hope we can work on that and make sure we keep in touch. I'd like to begin by congratulating your government on rising to power, so to speak. How are things going?"

 

[Nathan]

"Things are well thank you. I hope things are the same with you" The Minister relaxes in his seat. "I am glad we can finally bring our relations to the attention they deserve. We would love to see the relaxation of tariffs between our nations especially on products such as vanilla and raw materials which Madagascar possesses"

 

[Jamie]

"Oh, yes, they are, thank you." there was a brief pause. "We too would like to see the relaxation of tariffs, and with that in mind, query your interest in beginning a Free Trade Agreement between the UK and Madagascar, but also, if you would like to go ahead with that, discuss the possibility of opening the trade with the raw materials you mentioned, in return for our own exports."
