The Supreme Sacred Congregation of the Universal Inquisition, better known as the Holy Office of The Inquisition, has recently been refounded by His Holiness Pope Hadrian VII. Unlike its predecessor which was established to root out heresy in Catholics in General. The New Inquisition is tasked solely to be the Internal Affairs that manages those Catholics who are either in Holy Orders or have positions of leadership within the Church. They also look less for Heresy and more for Temporal Crimes.
Grand Inquisitor: Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger, Cardinal-Bishop of Velletri–Segni
Cardinal-Inquisitors: the 3 Cardinal-Inquisitors serve as the assistants to the Grand Inquisitor and the Supreme Tribunal that makes calls on all cases. Though the Grand Inquisitor has the power to override their decisions.
Bishop-Inquisitors: there are 7 Bishop-Inquisitors who serve as the continental authorities of the Inquisition. They serve on the staff of the Continental Patriarchs as advisors.
Inquisitors General: 3,171 Inquisitors General who serve are stationed in each diocese in the world. They all hold ranks within the Monsignori and have full authority over all Catholics in a Diocese who have Holy Orders or Leadership Positions.
Brother/Sister Inquisitors: there are currently 3,171 nuns or monks who are assigned to assist the Inquisitors General, the plan is to expand this number 8 fold. This is so that the numbers match the historic standards for the Inquisitorial teams of 1 inquisitor General assisted by 9 Brother/Sister Inquisitors.
Current Strength: 6,353
