To: Willem Smets From: Dan Meridor Dearest Minister Smets, I am contacting you on behalf of my government, the State of Israel, regarding Belgium's message to the world. We would like you to know, that after days of debating within Parliament, that Israel has decided to aid the Kingdom of Belgium to escape from its debt. The Belgian people have suffered greatly at the hands of the previous government and, we imagine, at the hands of foreign powers. With that said, it is Israel's hope that with the money we will send, Belgium will be able to crawl out of its debt and begin to help its people rebuild and enter the first world once again. Israel will be sending the Kingdom of Belgium 5,000,000,000.00$ very shortly. This money will be nothing more than a donation, free of charge and interest. We hope that Israel will be able to aid Belgium more in the future. As for now, let us know if there is anything more we can do for you. Your Excellency, I received your email earlier this afternoon while on coffee break with my colleagues here at the Ministry of Finance. This occassion has come as a rather sudden shock to my government as we haven't had the chance to establish contact with The State of Israel, but overall we are most grateful for the financial aid we have received in the form of 5 billion to be utilized in the service of paying off the national debt and enabling the necessary conditions for a return to economic normalcy and therefore growth.
