With the election of myself as the President of Israel and my cabinet replacing an older and more orthodox government, it is my hopes that we can change this. I hope that you will accept me for a meeting in Cairo to discuss the possibility of opening diplomatic relations between Israel and Egypt and potentially form a proper friendship. I intend to discuss many things with you, including but not limited to: trade, tourism, and our regional neighbors. President Manischewitz, I welcome your message, not only as the leader of a neighbouring nation but also a relevant international player. Although Egypt-Israeli relations have been very tense in the past, since the Camp David accords in 1979 and its related peace agreement, our nations have begun transiting a joint path of dialogue. While Egypt remains a Arab country, and that fact shapes our national identity, we have grown up tot he point were we can recognize the importance of a secular foreign agenda, where religion has nothing to do in how we engange with other nations, prioritizing the potential benefit to our societies. With this said, I wanted to express you our interest in establishing a firm line of communication between Cairo and Tel Aviv. Trade and tourism are certainly two very interesting points of departure to bring our people closer. I'm now about to receive the dignatary of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, but once this is over, I would like to invite you to Cairo for high level talks and to set a path of cooperation.
