From: Aya Tanaka, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan
To: Jackson Fitzgerald, Secretary of State of the United States of America
Subject: Diplomatic Relations
Your Excellency,
Firstly I would formally like to extend the well wishes of the State of Japan to President Gore and his family, the entire country of Japan is rooting for his good health and swift recovery.
We live in a dangerous world, in many ways one could argue that not since the end of World War 2 the world has been this unstable. While we have often historically switched between being allies and enemies, it is whenever the United States and Japan were friends that the world has been in the best positions.
It is the express wish of the Prime Minister, and the larger government of Japan, to restore relations between our two countries and re-establish the relations that have historically proven so extremely beneficial to the United States, State of Japan, and the world.
Yours sincerely,
Aya Tanaka
