In accordance with the principles of the Charter of the Global Assembly, I wish to share with you the developments in the Korean Peninsula that have emerged from a series of consultations between the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and Republic of Korea, which were both Member States of the United Nations, and the latter a member of the Global Assembly. With the formal ratification of the Treaty of Unification by the two parties, the defunct Democratic People’s Republic of Korea has ascended into the Republic of Korea. Consistent with Articles 3 & 4 of the Constitution of the Republic of Korea, pursuant of the right of self-determination of the Korean people, and the basis of diplomacy to absolve all dispute between people.
Drawing from the priorities of the Global Assembly as the principal agent of international order and cooperation as a neutral stakeholder, the Republic of Korea submits its borders and demarcations for airspace and maritime borders including its exclusive economic zone to the Global Assembly and its sub organs. Effective by the Treaty of Unification, the territory of the defunct regime has been incorporated de facto as consistent with the legal documents of the Republic of Korea of de jure incorporation.
The Republic of Korea has therefore requested that its boundaries and territories be formally recognized in accordance with the Treaty of Unification and consistent with its articles, maintenance of its positions as a member of the Assembly. Concurrent with the application of Assembly law and mandates on the Peninsula that, which is deemed relevantly appropriate of the advisory resolutions and that of the binding resolutions.
The Korean people pursuant to their rights as a people have enacted their right to self-determination and autonomy over their destiny and call for formal recognition of the unification of the Korean nation. Such recognition has been consistent with the values of Global Assembly as the neutral stakeholder in global affairs.
