Le-Pen, Le-Pen!
French Vice-President Jean Le-Pen won the second round of the Presidential election by an overwhelming 65% to 35% vote, garnering nearly 20 million votes to become the 5th President of the French Fifth Republic earlier this morning defeating Lionel Jospin.
Running on a platform of "Neutrality abroad and toughness at home", Le-Pen campaigned across France and around the globe.
Having just returned from an overseas trip, Le-Pen remarked to a crowd of supporters at an post-election rally.
"President Mitterrand led this country through a terrible crisis of repeated terrorist attacks. And for that our country needs to thank him.
But now, I am about to lead our country through the next century and millennium. France will be strong both at home and abroad. We will not use weapons of war, but French ingenuity and entrepreneurialism, to create our next century."
