It was early morning in the South Atlantic, various cargo ships were within the area however today was not going to be a normal day. The Argentinian Vessel MV Esperanza was on a routine delivery from Buenos Aires delivering high end vehicles to Lagos Port Complex in Nigeria. It was in the area of Square II roughly 20 Miles from Square JJ, roughly 2 miles away from the vessel two fishing boats both with 10 armed suspects with AK-47s & RPG-7s would be going at full speed towards the Argentinian Vessel. Although piracy wasn't a big issue within the area, compared to the Eastern African region however Islamic Combatants wanted to start hitting nations where it hurt and its first target was the Vehicle vessel from Argentina.

Once getting closer to the vessel, the armed combatants would begin opening fire at the short bursts. Of course the crew on board the Argentinian vessel weren't armed so the noise of the firing was quite intimidating, once the fishing boat begun circling the vessel one of the fishing boats begun moving to the side where 8 of the armed combatants begun boarding the vessel moving across the desk shooting their rifles in the air before moving into the bridge and taking the crew hostages. The other fishing boat would also unload 8 armed combatants onto the vessel once the other vessel moved out the way. The armed combatants knew it would take at least 8 hours for help to arrive so they begun to work quickly filming the crew that were taken hostage and sent it back to Argentina to the government demanding 200 Million Dollars to be delivered to the vessels for the Crew safety. The vessel would be stopped dead in the water, staying in international water.

It was barely 5 in the morning when the emergency phone rang at the office of the Prefectura Nacional Argentina (argentine Coast Guard). The call was from the partially state-run company that owned and operated the large shipping vessels of the argentine merchant navy and they were denouncing that they had just received a call from one of their ships, the MV Esperanza, which had to cover the route Buenos Aires - Lagos (Nigeria). They informed that an unidentified man had established communication from the bridge of said ship (through a recording) and was claiming to have kidnapped the vessel along with its crew, and demanding 200 million USD to release them.

According to the AIS, the ship was currently stopped in sector JJ. The first thing that was clear was that the Prefectura Nacional was clearly beyond its element, not only due to this crisis not occuring within their jurisdiction, but also due to not having the means to operate that far away. This was happening just few hundred nm off Africa, near the nigerian coast.

They would take note of all known elements and immedaitly call the Argentine Navy and inform the office of the President.

After quick deliberation within an ad-hoc created crisis commitee, it would be decided that the first step, due to the obvious distances was to establish contact with nigerian authorities and seek their help.

An emergency private call would be set from the Chief-of-Staff of the Argentine Navy to its nigerian counterpart.

In the meantime, in the Gulf of Guinea.

All of the bridge-crew there was being held captive, but considering that the pirates did not undertake a sweep of the full ship, nor demanded to see the ship-manifest with the complete list of crew members, 2 argentine sailors, that were working in the engine room doing some small reparations, aware of the situation, had enough time to hide in the deep corridors of the large commercial ship. They were unarmed and had only access to one handys, which had only range to communicate within the ship or within few hundred meters around the ship.

With no word as of yet the pirates began getting angry, dragging the captain by his throat to a side room before beating him and severely injuring this would also be filmed and sent to the Argentinians.

While the other pirates begun roaming the walk ways and watching over the other hostages a pirate would begin to shut down all the navigational systems and gps systems including the AIS which meant the tracking off the vessel would be stopped. The Argentinians would be given a deadline of 4 hours for half the payment otherwise hostages will be getting shot one by one every hour until they have the money

Witnessing the brutal video, and while waiting for the nigerians to respond and coordinate an effort to intervene, a professional hostage negotiator from the argentine federal police would be called to scene. A satellite phone would be used to contact the pirates through the satellite phone of the command bridge of the MV Esperanza.

The phone would ring.

In the meantime, personnel frmo the company would notice that 2 of the crew members were missing in both videos, rising suspisious about the posibility of them being currently hidden somewhere in the ship. This of course would all be discussed privately.

Media would begin getting word of this event.
