[Netherlands] Call to the United States, Great Britain and Norway

The Minister of Defence Bernhard Reinders would initiate a secure and encrypted videoconference, inviting his counterparts from the United States of America, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Kingdom of Norway to the call.

Once all three participants had answered and it was ensured that their end of the call was too encrypted and secure he would speak, "Gentlemen, thank for answering this call. I have called you all to inform you that the Kingdom of the Netherlands has just signed and ratified an agreement with the French Republic which transfers the sovereignty of the French overseas territories of Noumea, New Caledonia, French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Saint Barthélemy, Réunion, Mayotte, French Polynesia, Saint Pierre and Miquelon and Saint Martin to the Kingdom of the Netherlands."

"The aim of this treaty is to safeguard the citizens of these islands from the conflict between the French Republic and the Republic of Argentina. My government would appreciate your military support in defending the sovereignty of the islands and hope you are willing to see that an attack by Argentina on the sovereignty of the Netherlands is equal to an attack on your own sovereignty."

"While we hope to avoid entering this conflict, we must stand ready to defend the innocent inhabitants from this conflict."

Prince Ingvar, who was the Minister of Defense and Chief of Defense of the Kingdom of Norway answered the call while the Norwegian Foreign Minister listened in. Ingvar's line was secure and encrypted. Once the other representatives were on, Ingvar would say, "The Norwegian Royal Navy is in the middle of a secret operation in the Caribbean. Coincidently, our fleet is at the island of Guadeloupe where we're about to start deploying Royal Marines onto the island. We will continue this operation, unless you ask us to halt. The purpose of this operation really is to defend the islands and ensure that the Argentine armed forces can't just swoop in and take them. We'll send over all of the details of the operation for you to review...

"Has this treaty been made public yet?" he asked, before saying, "If there is any attack on The Netherlands or her holdings, this would be considered an attack on the Kingdom of Norway."

A secure copy of "Operation Saints" was sent to the Dutch Defense Minister from Ingvar's office - all of the details of the operation, including whom and what was involved, were included.

"Your Highness, we thank you for your support and additional protection of what is now our sovereign territory. My government will continue to use all resources to aim for a diplomatic solution to this conflict, however we are aware our soft power means nothing without the hard power of your nation and that of the United States and Great Britain. We will allow the deployment to Guadeloupe, however we ask that your forces do not fire unless fired upon."

"WHat the world needs is for this conflict to be solved bilaterally and the Netherlands is currently working at mediation, a conflict between ISAF and the CIS would be devastating to global stability and prosperity and we will do everything in our power to prevent such an event. The future of our planet now lies in the hands of the Argentine government, we hope they choose peace."

"I will continue to disclose updates here as they come in. Once again I would like to thank Norway for its support."

Chuck Hagel would put the British Defence Minister on hold to answer the Dutch call, listening to what he has to say, and on an encrypted line would reply. "Rest assured Mister Reinders, the Netherlands has the USA's full support and we will see fit that an attack on Dutch soil will be seen as an attack on us all. I hope that this conflict can be solved peacefully, however we are ready for conflict if needs be"

The British Secretary of Defence too, ended his call with the American Government to participate in the conference call on a private and encrypted line. Catching up on what was said before beginning to speak:

"I apologize for been late. To confirm support, given the territories are, whether temporary or not, under your govern; any attack on them will be considered an attack on all of us and would initiate Article III of the Independent States Treaty of collective defence. Whilst the Independent States Allied Force itself has remained out of the conflict, the movements made by the CIS and tanturmming Argentine Government is indicating that all they desire is war. It is unfortunate that the sheep beneath them fear Argentina more than expected as I have no doubt in my mind that the CIS will be supporting the conflict.

This raises concerns globally, and the fact is, ISAF has maintained silence to avoid upsetting the South American Dictator but evidently our silence on the matter cannot continue.
Due to these new risks, we will be deploying a carrier strike group to the Falkland Islands and I would request an American one to support that. This would only be defence of the island, and to get ahead of the situation.

There was a short pause whilst the Secretary begun reminiscing a film he had watched. "As a side note, I raise questions as to whether the name and logo was a coincidence or the Argentine Government happened to be a fan of the popular franchise, Star Wars, and had the lack of imagination of what to name a collection nations. Perhaps their next step is building battle droids.."

The US Secretary would laugh a little "We could do with some battle droids, save some of our own troops lives.." He would pause a little, to check his computer as an e-mail had just came through. "Gentlemen, the President has decided that given the situation around the world, that the United States be moved from DEFCON four to DEFCON two. I would suggest you all do the same with your armed forces." Again there'd be another pause. "Mister Reinders, what can you tell me of the territories you have taken control of, are they currently safe? And yes Mister Secretary, we can ready a Carrier Strike group to join you in the Falklands, we currently have three destroyers already stationed there that are ready to patrol if you so wish?"

Given the first appearance of "The Confederation of Independent Systems - CIS" in the Star Wars Universe happened during "Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones" in the year 2002, it would never have existed in the MNverse, since this was after year 2001.

Considering this, the reference in last paragraph would be void.

Whilst you're entitled to use ancient technology within your country, the rest of the IC world continues (I.e. iPhones, 4G, and yes, unfortunately even the newest Star Wars movies).
