It is a great honour to be writing to you today within my position as the Prime Minister of the Netherlands. The Prime Minister has confirmed a free slot in his schedule, the earliest time he could depart is (tomorrow) if this is convenient for yourself, or is this too soon?

This would be a transition via a RAF Tri-star to the Netherlands, containing the Prime Minister himself and two personal assistants.

Due to his high profile, he would be accompanied by ten security officers which would be carrying concealed arms if this is something you would welcome? These are Tier One Operators from the Special Air Service that would be assigned to his protection.

The protection detail provided by the Special Air Service will be permitted to remain armed in the Netherlands if before entry they allow for their weapons to be registered into the National Police database to ensure they can be traced if used in a crime.

The British Prime Minister, Andrew Evans, had received confirmation of the visit to the Netherlands which had postponed his Prime Ministers Questions for this year. It was a relief to avoid having to be interrogated by his peers. The following departed the United Kingdom with the Prime Minister onboard:

All wearing suits, earpieces and hosting concealed MP5s. Something that was declared prior to departure.

The aircraft departed, following air traffic control routine and making for The Hague Airport as requested.
Confirmation was sent to the Dutch hosts to confirm the departure of the Prime Minister with the expected arrival in an hour.

The '1 BSB Peleton' from the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee would be deployed to Rotterdam The Hague Airport. The airport itself would only notice minimum disruption through means of an increased deployment from the '3 KMar Peleton' to increase perimeter security at the airport.

Air traffic control would guide the aircraft safely through Dutch airspace before giving it clearance to land. Once safely touched down the aircraft would be guided to a remote stand where members from the BSB Peleton would disperse around the stand to form a security perimeter. Once given the all clear from all stations a stairway would be attached allowing the British delegation to disembark where at the bottom of the stair Prime Minister Elco Brinkman would be awaiting the British Prime Minister.

Engaging in a safe landing, the aircraft taxied to the relevant bay where it would stay for the state visit. This allowed the stairs to be set up against the aircraft. Initially, two smartly dressed individuals stepped off, 'Moose' and 'Falcon' who had been instructed to take the lead. Followed by 'Kodak' and 'Apex' then the Prime Minister. Behind him was the rest of the Special Forces Security Detail. They tended to keep clear of the Prime Minister and out of the way. Andrew Evans made his approach to Prime Minister Brinkman, extending his hand as he got in range. "Good Morning Prime Minister." he spoke confidently.

Brinkman took a step forward to shake the hand of his counterpart. "Prime Minister, it is a true pleasure to welcome you to the Netherlands. I'd ask you how your flight was, but I assume it was so short you barely noticed you were in the air," he said with a slight chuckle. After allowing some time for a response, Brinkman turned his body to stand parallel with the British Prime Minister. With his hand he gestured to the convoy of waiting vehicles, where officers from the 1 BSB held the doors of the two center vehicles, the Dutch Prime Minister being placed in the lead of the two vehicles with the British delegation being placed behind him. Those of the SAS which would remain with the Prime Minister would be placed in the remaining vehicles alongside officers from the 1 BSB.

The drive from the airport to the Catshuis be quick and uneventful as they received an honourary escort from the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee, supported by the traffic division from the National Police. Upon arrival at the Catshuis the door would once again be held open for the Prime Ministers to disembark and to be led to a conference room where refreshments had already been prepared by the buildings staff.

Prime Minister Brinkman would take his position at the conference table across from the British delegation. "Mr Evans, can I get you something to drink?"

Andrew Evans shook the Dutch Representatives hand, "It's an absolute pleasure to be here, and meet you in person Prime Minister.", unable to contain a smirk as he continued. "Oh trust me, as short of a flight as it was, it was noticeable." With that, he entered the assigned vehicle and the Operators kept their calmness in unfamiliar territory. Exiting the vehicles upon arrival, the Prime Minister made his way into the conference room and took a seat. "It wouldn't be right not to ask for a cup of tea.. two sugars please." he chuckled at the typical approach of a Brit'. "How has everything been? I'm sure you're too experiencing a very full schedule since becoming Prime Minister." he queried in jest.

"No trouble at all." The Prime Minister gestured towards the staff who quickly went to work, filling a cup with hot water and placing it in front of the British Prime Minister, along with a diversity of exotic flavours for the Prime Minister to choose from, with milk and sugar being available for the Prime Minister to add to his own liking.

"The setting up of a government is always time intensive, however thankfully things are returning to normal. How has your first few months of governance been?

Welcomed the hot tea with open arms, "Thank you.." he responded, applying some milk and two spoonfuls of sugar. "Time intensive.." he responded, "That is the best categorization I've heard of as a response in becoming Prime Minister. Whilst I enjoy diplomatic engagements, it can be tiring doing them back-to-back. Overall, I'd like to think my first few months have been progressive and we are really looking at some domestic changes that will be better for the United Kingdom. We've also begun an operation to support Madagascar against Ebola. May I ask the approach to foreign policy that you will be applying for the Netherlands?"

"Yes, the Ebola outbreak in Madagascar is rather concerning, at this time we are unable to offer any physical support, in terms of deployments. However, we have provided the government with funds allocated to humanitarian aid, which they will be using to improve hospitals on the ground. I hope that we may be able to do more to help soon."

"We're looking to develop the Netherlands into a hub for international diplomacy and cooperation. Therefore we'll be maintaining a open and cooperative stance on the international stage. However, that doesn't mean we'll remain neutral and silent when international law is being breached. In terms of defence, the loss of NATO has weakened the Netherlands and we hope to either reforge the old NATO alliance or bring a new defensive organisation to the world. In regards to this topic, I wanted to ask whether or not you'd be willing to dispatch your Secretary of Defence to the Netherlands for a defence summit, where both the American Secretary of Defence and Dutch Minister of Defence will be present, so that we can discuss the future of defence and security cooperation between our nations."

There was a concerned silence that fell after the mention of the reforging of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation. The world was missing a military pact, but was it for the best it kept that way? Apprehensively, the Prime Minister responded. "I would be happy to dispatch a British Delegate to attend the summit, preferably the Secretary of Defence but if not, then someone in that same sector to be able to offer expert opinions and assessment on the discussions. When will this summit be held?" He waited for a reply. Although he'd accepted the invitation, the concept of a military alliance was something he'd prefer not to enter.

"My apologies for asking, but your response seems rather hesitant. Are you concerned by something I said, Mr Prime Minister?" Brinkman asked with a slight frown on his face. "I was holding off the meeting until I had confirmation on whether or not a British delegation would be willing to attend. Now that I have my answer I'll inform my Minister of Defence to prepare for the summit and send out invitations."

"The world has been without a military pact of sorts for some time, and I dare see we've seen less conflict as a result. I feel like the return of NATO will be an invitation for contest which solicits war. Nonetheless, our delegate will attend with an open mind and be invested in the summit to see the benefits, express any concerns and essentially .. go from there.
That, of course, is my personal opinion. Depending on the outcome of the summit, and of course, depending on the House of Commons, we will see what the future holds. Nonetheless, I do appreciate the invitation and the thoughtfulness of having British involvement. I will leave the finer details to my Secretary of Defence who I'm sure knows much more than I about such affairs." laughed the Prime Minister. "Speaking of such, it would be of benefit to have a joint training exercise between our forces in some way. Is this something your government is interested in exploring?"

"I understand your concern Mr Evans. Though I can only speak with my six months of experience, I am not certain that the lack of military pacts is the cause for these peaceful times, or that this period is simply the calm before the storm. We are experiencing a return of communism, with its reappearance in Russia and Ukraine. The Kingdom of Madagascar is experiencing a most terrifying rise of a disease, yet we are unable to offer an organised response. The aim of the meeting is primarily to discuss any and all means of defence cooperation between our nations, not necessarily the return of NATO or the establishment of another organisation. I'll inform my minister to send out the invitations as soon as all preparations have been made."

"Yes, I agree that a joint exercise would be most beneficial. May I ask what type or types of exercises you have in mind?"

"You make some valid points, I will leave the finer details to our Secretary of Defence who I have authorized to negotiate on Britain's behalf in the summit. In the meantime, I suppose we will see what happens. With regards to the exercises, we could potentially have our armies involved in a conventional war exercise. Together against a common enemy and utilizing each others equipment. Or, if you'd prefer, a joint navy exercise. We would be able to commit a few ships including an aircraft carrier or helicopter carrier for joint air ops in a maritime environment. If there is anything you'd prefer?"
