Special Agent Otto Valen had his mission. It was the first and only mission a Kripos agent had outside of Sweden. In fact, the legality of the entire operation was called into question several times, but it was ultimately decided that what he was going to do was in the interest of the nation. He was in plain clothes and was dressed for the chilly evening in Sweden. Otto was in his early thirties and appeared to be like most other Swedish citizens that morning walking to work. His brisk blonde hair flowed naturally in the wind. His only noticeable distinguishing factor that set him apart from the other fair-haired and fair-skinned people of the subcontinent was that he was a bit taller than average.

He made his way through Stockholm, knowing exactly where his target would be. He had official documents on him in case anything went wrong, however he'd practiced what he had to do physically and mentally several times. He knew the route she would take on a Friday, and he knew that there would be no one walking with her target as a protective detail since she wasn't an incredibly high-ranking member of the Swedish government.

As Katarina Gardfeldt, the head of the Swedish Polar Institute, took the scenic route to work that Friday morning, she turned a corner only to bump into a tall, handsome man.

"Very sorry!" he said in Swedish. They both looked down and saw the back of a white envalope between them.

"Oh I think you dropped this miss, here you go," he said as he picked it up and handed it to her. He gave her no time to reject it or state otherwise. He now had three options: go back where he came, go forward, or cross the street. The most optimal choice was available: cross the street, seeing as the light was just about to turn yellow. He briskly walked away from her and crossed the street just in the nick of time as busy traffic started to cross it again. They were only a few blocks from the Norwegian embassy, so he made the most direct path back there, making sure he wasn't followed.

Upon further inspection, Katarina would notice the letter had, in small black print, the following written on it:
KATARINA GARDFELDT
SECRET

Katarina confusingly reconfigured herself after bumping into who appeared to be a complete stranger in the street, she brushes her brown hair behind her right ear before politely glazing her eyes over the mans face and body to ensure he was physically alright after their two paths collided. She smiled and utters "I'm sorry!" at the same time as Otto, ensuring her handbag was still hanging from her right shoulder as she did. Slightly starstruck by his good looks whilst equally embarrassed as their bubble of personal space is seemingly burst by her ignorant and repetitive Friday routine.

Immediately glancing down to the white envelope, she extends her hands to accept it, her brain not having chance to compute what was going on and almost catching-up after the shock of bumping into someone shakes her thought processing. Once given the chance, she quickly darts her eyes back up "Oh no, this isn't mine, it must be..." - but Otto was gone. She didn't even have enough time to finish her sentence. Katarina scurries to the edge of the sidewalk eagerly looking for any tall male she'd recognise as the one she bumped into but unsurprisingly the streets were busy with citizens making their way to and from work.

"What on earth am I supposed to do now?" she mumbles before noticing her name on the front. Utterly confused she looks around before stuffing it into her handbag and continuing to the Swedish Polar Institute.

Katarina enters the building via a side staff-entrance enabling her to avoid the awkward morning small talk with administrative staff and the receptionists who she simply didn't care for on a Friday morning especially after the absurd events she'd already endured. Once in her office she throws her long trench coat and handbag to her office chair. This was her first opportunity to tear open the envelope, which she did without delay and without much consideration for what could be within...

Inside of the envelope was a brisk letter written very simply in small black text.

Ms. Katarina Gardfeldt,

The following is top secret, do not discuss this with anyone.
The Norwegian Royal Navy is going to conduct an operation around Antarctica. We are inviting a limited number of Swedish military personnel and Institute personnel to participate.
If you are interested in taking part in this operation, please show up at the Norwegian embassy at 5:00P.M. with your passport and another form of identification. The meeting will be brief... Come alone.

Best Regards,
A Raven

Katarina throws the sinister letter to the desk, obviously aware of the committed undying relationship between the Norwegian and Swedish governments however naturally nervous about the characteristics of the letter and the way in-which she has received it. The Swedish Polar Research Secretariat has highly TOP SECRET documentation in cooperation with the Swedish Royal Navy and Air Force which are held in line with regulations set forth by the Swedish Document Classification and Security Act 1995; questions run through Katarina's mind on whether this is a coincidence or a breach.

Throughout the day Katarina prepares herself to the meeting that evening, before leaving her office she has a strong spritz with her favourite perfume and marches down the streets in her black high heels to the Norwegian Embassy. Upon walking up the stairs she darts her eyes to the receptionist, unsure what to say considering the secretive nature of the letter but obviously needing to get to the meeting.

"Uh, I'm here to see A. Raven?" she presents her Swedish passport and a letter addressed to her at the Swedish Polar Research Secretariat, whilst speaking she continues to dart her eyes around the room and constantly checking behind her. Katarina's anxiety levels hit an all-time high as she feels more and more isolated by the unsolicited meeting.

The well-endowed young receptionist frowned when she heard the woman say she was there to see a raven. She must be insane she thought to herself. However, when she saw the woman's passport her point of view changed. "Oh, Ms. Gardfeldt. Of course, please come with me," she said. The young woman guided her through a medal detector and, if nothing was detected, she would be allowed to pass through to the interior of the building and be given back her passport. Katarina was brought into a small library and told to wait there. After a few minutes, one of the bookcases opened like a door. Out walked a man dressed in a dark suit. He motioned for Ms. Gardfeldt to follow him, "This way please."

If she came along she would be brought into a small underground facility where about ten other Norwegian men were gathered. This meeting, of course, was private.

"Hello Ms. Gardfeldt. Welcome to our embassy," a man in a grey suit said.
"I'm Special Agent Nicolaisen with the Norwegian Royal Lighthouse Service. These gentlemen are with various other intelligence agencies and military organizations from Norway. Please, take a seat," he said as she was offered some water. A small presentation was made on a screen behind them. Agent Nicolaisen continued speaking.

"The Norwegian armed forces is currently building a top secret facility on Bouvet Island. The only non-military and non-intelligence individuals aware of its construction include the King, the Prime Minister, the Minister of Defense, and now you... I'm sure you can see that keeping this facility secret is important, and that we expect you not to tell anyone about it..." he said, looking at her for a moment before he continued.

"The Royal Navy will be sending a cruiser to Antarctica to see how the progress on the construction is going. As a sign of good faith since the signing the Antarctica Treaty, we'd like to bring some Swedish representatives with us. In return, we'd require you to supply us with an unarmed helicopter so that we can fly your personnel to and from Antarctica. This mission is mostly symbolic, but I'm sure there will be time to do some science and other things. We'd be willing to accommodate ten non-military Swedish personnel. Are you interested?"

Katarina, although a heterosexual women, can't help but stare at the receptionists breasts; astounded by the capability to keep her undoubtedly large nipples within the bra and having no visible areola. She then follows cautiously through the metal detector various doors and behind the bookcase, almost expecting a meat cleaver to swing into the back of her neck... once within the room she very quickly assesses her surroundings and the people within the room.

"Special Agent... nice to... uh, meet you...?" she takes a seat closest to the door.

"Bouvet Island. Interesting. I mean we obviously have an invested interest in Antarctica so your expedition over there coupled with the opportunity for us to send Swedish officials; obviously your secret is safe with me" she begins to breathe a sigh of relief as it appears to be a business conversation which in her position is something she does every single working day.

"We can supply the helicopter without doubt, the Swedish Royal Navy have designated a small number to Antarctic expedition since the dissolution of the Maritime Safety Initiative. My question is refuelling... Antarctica is vast."

"The cruiser will have plenty of fuel to spare. If you could lend us a Seahawk, I believe they have a range of 400-550 nautical miles - so that would be plenty of range, especially if we weren't far from shore. We are only limited by when you can provide this helicopter and the ten people you'd like to send along. We can supply the pilots," he said. He tapped his finger on the desk and breathed in, "I'm happy that we will be able to work together. There will be some swell sites to be seen."

If there was nothing else to be asked, she would be permitted to leave to assemble her team and get the helicopter ready for departure. Instructions would be sent to have it sent to an area near Oslofjord.

"Right, well... in that case.. I will arrange the aircraft and send some personnel to the same location. Is there anything else you need from us to help prepare for the voyage?"

Katarina makes brief, vague notes on her notepad to remind her of the preparations necessary.

There was indeed nothing else to discuss. She was led out the back of the embassy after it was made sure that no one in particular was watching the exit to the building. Katarina was giving a business card with a phone number on it for the main point of contact she'd need to make. She was told when the ship would be ready for deployment.

Katarina made a single call to the Swedish Royal Navy upon leaving the mysterious meeting requesting authorisation for deployment of a single Sikorsky MH-60R Seahawk from the 1st SAR Squadron, 1st Maritime Support Group, Malmen Air Force Wing. This aircraft would be accompanied by the approved Swedish personnel, six from the Swedish Royal Navy however completely unarmed and dressed to fit in with the additional four Swedish Polar Research Secretariat research personnel; the vision from Sweden was to scope the area for future deployment in order to defend Swedish overseas territory. With this continent being formerly untouched it was absolutely essential to conduct an abundance of research in order to adequately serve the region. The Royal Navy personnel remained unarmed however their sole interest is the deployment capability and ship specification necessary in the seemingly meretricious region, they'd make notes throughout and ordered to report back to Katarina upon return. Meanwhile the Swedish Polar Research Secretariat research personnel were tasked with scouting the region for an appropriate main operations base location and conduction regional small-scale research projects into the climate.

Immediately upon completion of preparations and stocking the aircraft with appropriate clothing, research equipment and emergency solutions it would depart for the given Norwegian location near Oslofjord.
