________________________MISSION________________________
31 Valkyrie special force soldiers (company 1) currently stationed at the Royal Palace in Oslo to provide relief to the city were ordered to standby for immediate deployment to an undisclosed location. The soldiers had been well-rested and were now only providing minimal manual tasks for the past few days. They geared up and awaited transport. Three HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopters landed on the palace grounds where the soldiers boarded. The helicopters took the soldiers further south where they refueled for their journey to Leeuwarden Air Base in The Netherlands. While over the North Sea, the soldiers were briefed and told that they were preparing for a possible rescue mission of a VIP. Meanwhile, the Minister of Defense - who had ordered the deployment after leaving the Royal Palace - made a secure and encrypted phone call to his counterpart in The Netherlands.

If the Dutch Minister of Defense answered, he would say the following. "Minister Reinders, this is Minister Ingvar from Norway. What I'm about to tell you is a classified Norwegian military operation. I've just ordered the deployment of Norwegian special forces who are aboard three HH-60 helicopters. They've just crossed into the North Sea and are a little over 400 kilometers from The Netherlands. I need to request permission for them to land at Leeuwarden Air Base so that they can refuel. From Leeuwarden, they will be heading to the United Kingdom. I'm sorry this is last minute. Can our troops land in The Netherlands?"

Ingvar waited for a response.

With the Minister of Defence currently being preoccupied due to a phone call with the American government, Secretary of State for Defence Julie Wouters would be the one who picked up the phone to answer Norwegian Minister of Defence, she'd answer the phone once ensuring it was encrypted and secure. "I'm sorry Minister Ingvar, this is Secretary of State for Defence Julie Wouters speaking." She'd remain silent as the Minister expressed his wishes before answering, "Minister, this is rather short notice. Are your helicopters and the personnel within them armed, sir?"

"Yes, Madam Secretary, I'm sorry that it is. Weapons systems on the helicopters are armed, and the special forces are armed as well. They only need to refuel and then will be airborne again. Will this be a problem?" Ingvar looked at the Air Force general across from him and shrugged his shoulders as he waited for a response. This mission was indeed short notice, but preparing for worst-case-scenarios was the responsibility of the armed forces. As he awaited the secretary's response, a junior officer brought in some documents pertaining to the operation, along with the number he'd need to call to get in touch with the British Ministry of Defense if this one was successful.

Classified and Private

The High Command informed the Valkyries in an encrypted manner to turn around and head back to Oslo. The pilots were told that the mission was cancelled and that the VIP in question was now out of harms way. The High Command privately informed the Dutch armed forces that Norwegian special forces would no longer need to enter Dutch airspace and that the mission was now aborted. The Valkyries returned to Oslo and, after landing, would either return to their assigned duty stations or be given leave. The helicopters and equipment were returned to their proper locations. No further communication to outside countries was made in regard to this operation, including the British who were never made aware.
