Operation Re-Integration HIGHLY CLASSIFIED AND SECRET |
The tensions between Romania and Moldova was mainly public knowledge and many who knew Romania knew of this tension. The Diarchy of Romania, including its previous King and the new King and Queen, did not recognize Moldova as a sovereign nation and believed the territory to still be Romanian land, stripped from them during the regime of the USSR. Russia had promised to aid Romania in re-taking Moldova into Romanian control, but now that the nation had gone quiet for over a month, the worse was thought of the situation and Operation Re-Integration had to go on without the Russians. Which meant that the Romanians would not stop at the state of Transnistria, but take it under Romanian control along with the rest of Moldova. However, King Cristofor believed that Moldova could be reasoned with without having to spill both Romanian and Moldovan blood. While Queen Cosmina believed that a fast and unrelenting invasion of the false nation was in order, King Cristofor believed that he could convince the Moldovans to hold a democratic referendum to have the Moldovans integrate into Romania (like they had done previously in history) without having lives pointlessly lost. While Queen Cosmina would send the military of Romania to take their positions on the Moldovan border (secretly, of course), King Cristofor would prepare a letter to be sent to Moldova in hopes that they would co-operate. All Romanian troop movements and orders would be done through high classification within the Romanian army and all orders would be faxed instead of using phones or other high signal devices that would have a chance of being caught by foreign powers and investigated. The movement of the Romanian army was done slowly and in low numbers, as to not attract too much attention and even if it were, the Romanian air force (which was fully mobilized and armed) would assure that air superiority remains in the Romanian favor, not that the Moldovans had much of an air force. The Romanian radars (purchased from France) were active within small cities on the Moldovan border and any movement on the other side of the border would be detected through signals. While King Cristofor wrote his letter, Queen Cosmina commanded the leaders of the Romanian battalions and regiments along with the air force. The 1st Battalion, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Battalion, 1st Regiment, and the 2nd Regiment would be ordered on the offense to seize Moldovan cities and key military strong points as quickly as possible while the 4th Battalion, 5th Battalion, and the 6th Battalion were placed in key locations on the Romanian-Moldovan border and ordered to be the defensive line of Romania if this operation were to somehow go wrong. All that was between the Romanian Armed Forces full march into Moldova was the single email that King Cristofor of Romania would send to Moldova's president. |
