Most Holy Father, I wish I was able to communicate with you during a more peaceful time, your Holiness, but I am writing this letter in response to the events surrounding the Hagia Sofia and the debasement of such an important Catholic landmark. After discussing the matter with my Council of Ministers, I have come to the conclusion that I must, at the very least, offer my support in Your Holiness' effort in the restoration of the Hagia Sofia to Christian hands. While we will not be recalling our diplomatic outpost within Turkiye at this present time, nor will we prematurely end our student exchange program, I am currently drafting a press release stating our stance as in favor of the Holy Roman Catholic Church. I will also be issuing a travel advisory for travelling to Turkiye at this time in an effort to reduce the risk of Polish citizens within the area should unrest become prevalent. I am also offering the assistance of the Polish Diplomatic mission to any Catholics, or Christians, within Turkiye who no longer feel their safety is guaranteed within the country. From there the Polish Embassy will work with Polish airlines to safely remove them from Turkiye and return them home. I have the honor to profess myself with the most profound respect, your Holiness' most obedient and humble servant. |
Sincerely, Stanislaus Grabowski King of Poland Święty Król Polski |
