| Parliamentary Monarchy of Portugal First Parliamentary Elections 1995 | |
Introduction
As per the 1995 Constitution, which paved the way to the current Government of Portugal, A Royal Assembly-led election would be held every 5 years for the positions of the Councils of Ministers. After massive consideration by the Parliament, an Amendment on the Elections of the Government had been made. The Amendment changed the clause so that the popular elections for the positions Royal Assembly would take a month before the elections of the Councils of Ministers. As such, the Portuguese people face it's first challenge in choosing who would best fit the Realm's needs.
Being the first election since the fall of the republic, massive consideration and preparations have been made, even delaying the election for a month. International Media is invited to document the events unfolding all around the Realm. Security has been heightened at the ballot places, ensuring that vote-manipulation would be non-existent. All that's left is to see what party would rise up on top.
