News of Sparrow Industries is being slowly digested throughout the world, however it is clear that many of their products belonged to the French Military Industry, which is a great supplier of the Portuguese Armed Forces.

Portugal as in talks with Sparrow about the purchase of an aircraft carrier of French Origin, since their closure the talks have broken down. As such, we would like to follow up with you on the possibility of acquiring the following:

1 x Charles de Gaulle-class aircraft carrier; With the possibility of a second in the near future alongside its complement.
30 x Rafale M, if not possible, we would be looking to buy the same number of Dassault-Breguet Super Étendard;
3 x Aérospatiale SA 321 Super Frelon;
3 x Eurocopter AS565 Panther;

These would be produced in Portugal, as such we would be paying towards France around two billion euros, which would cover most and some more of the profits that you would receive if produced in France. The production cost would be supported by Portugal.

Thank you for your interest in the French military industry. You are correct in that with the collapse of Sparrow Industries the French government has taken measures to secure the affected companies and bring them back to French control. As a result we can in fact provide for their sale.

After thorough analysis we are willing to sell the listed products in the requested quantities. However, due to the inclusion of numerous proprietary systems we cannot allow the production of these products within Portugal. Any order would require them to be produced within the Empire of France and include the cost of the production as well as any additional fees charged by the involved companies, in this case Naval Group, Dassault Aviation, and Airbus.

In that case, we are willing to buy these products from France directly, how much would the order in full cost? The production cost of all these would come around at $6,222,318,300, we would be willing to pay around $7,500,000,000, paid in two tranches of $3,750,000,000 one before production, and the second after receiving the products.

I believe this amount would be a fair price for these products, and would give you a great profit in selling these.

Out of an interest to foster and develop closer relations with Portugal we are willing to sell you the requested equipment at the proposed price. Unfortunately due to the nature of the production and policies of the involved companies we do require up front transfer of the entire payment. Once this has been received construction will commence and the equipment will be handed over to Portuguese authorities upon completion.

Unfortunately, we cannot strain our treasury with that amount due to other investments in this area, slipping it in 50/50 would have been more visible for our economy. So, with this in mind, we regret that we cannot follow up on this procurement with France, under the conditions imposed by your Government.

I would like to express our gratitude for the time and effort invested by your Government, throughout the negotiation process. We look forward to the possibility of engaging in other mutually beneficial endeavors in the future.​
