COMPLETION DATE | 22/03/2020 |
PROJECT INFORMATION | The Capital Line will be Norway's first high speed line. It will range from Oslo to Eidsvoll. The path (which will be electrified and double-tracked), including the tunnels, will follow this route: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/de/Gardermobanen_map.png This includes what will be the longest railway tunnel in all of Norway. Context: The necessity of this line is justified by the fact that Oslo Airport is not even located within Oslo, but instead near Gardermobanen due to uneven Norwegian terrain. This line will effectively replace the Hoved Line as the primary mode of transport from Oslo Airport to Oslo, and vice versa. Stations: 1. Oslo Central Station 2. Lillestrom Station 3. Oslo Airport Station* 4. Eidsvoll Verk Station* 5. Eidsvoll Station* *These stations do not yet exist and will be constructed as part of this project. They will be built to their RL specifications. General Information: Tracks: Double tracked Track Gauge: 1,435 mm (4 ft 8 1⁄2 in) Elctrafication: 15kV 16.7Hz AC Operating Speed: 210km/hr (130mph) Locomotive: NSB Class 73** **A special locomotive with bullet-proof windows and doors, but otherwise inconspicuous, will be purchased and kept for use for Norwegian VIPs and government personnel. |
