PROJECTRoyal Lighthouse Authority - Intelligence Agency
PROJECT COST100,000,000.00
COMPLETION DATE17/03/2019
PROJECT INFORMATIONFaeder Lighthouse and the surrounding structures and islands are now closed to the public. The Royal Lighthouse Authority quietly stated that this was for "environmental reasons". The reality, however, was that the Royal Lighthouse Authority was preparing for some major construction to take place because the property had been chosen for the secret headquarters of the RLA's special agent program. First, all items of historical important were removed and secretly stored in government warehouses in Oslo. Then, the old Keeper's home had all furniture removed.

The buildings were entirely renovated and were fitted with things such as central heating and air conditioning. The walls were reinforced and designed so that it wouldn't be possible to "listen in" to the buildings via monitoring equipment from, for example, a passing ship The floors were redone, as were the roofing of the buildings. While these renovations were being done, computers, electronic equipment, and modern communications were added including a small radio transmitter discreetly attached to the lighthouse and painted the same color. Luxuries were also added to the main home such as a small theater and a computer lab on an isolated network. Solar panels were also installed along with batteries for additional charging in the day. These were installed discreetly and done in a way that they wouldn't be in danger of being swept away by bad storms. Two helicopter pads with landing lights on them were installed as well. Some of the old furniture was brought back in, while newer office furniture was also brought in.

Finally, the inside of the lighthouse was retrofitted as well. The windows, like the windows of the other buildings, were made bullet-proof and designed so that outsiders couldn't listen into them. An office was built near the top of the lighthouse for the chief, along with some private quarters. Telephone and communications were run into it and were done so in a way that they couldn't be used to spy on the complex. Also, a small elevator was installed.

Part of the heft price-tag associated with this project is to account for the fact that this construction is being done in such a way that it isn't obvious the buildings are being gutted and updated into the 21st century. Also, part of this hefty price-tag is due to the fact that the work is being expedited without cutting corners.

The Royal Lighthouse Authority has 100 special agents who all report to the Chief. Officially, the special agents have the authority to investigate crimes done to or by Norwegian Coastal Administration staff or on any of the Administration's properties. Also, they investigate "boating accidents" including crashes and murder at sea. Unknown to the public or most of the government, they also investigate unexplained phenomena that occurs in Norway from unidentified submerged objects to the paranormal. They are the only law enforcement with no oversite from the Ministry of Justice.
