PROJECT INFORMATION | The Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Empire is Russia's external intelligence agency, focusing mainly on civilian affairs. It is a successor of the KGB. The FIS is tasked with intelligence and espionage activities outside the Russian Empire. It works together with the Main Intelligence Directorate, it's military-affairs espionage counterpart. The FIS is also authorized to negotiate anti-terrorist cooperation and intelligence-sharing arrangements with foreign intelligence agencies, and provides analysis and dissemination of intelligence to the Russian monarch. Any information pertaining to specific identities of staff employees (officers) of the FIS is legally classified as a state secret, the same applies to non-staff personnel such as informers and recruited agents. Like the ISS, the Director is hand-picked by the monarch. The headquarters of the FIS is located in a wooded area of Yasenevo, Moscow. |
