Figuratively standing before the ruins of Parliament Hill, Prime Minister Peter MacKay, sat in his new wheelchair. The rubble that had fallen atop of him had destroyed his spine and left him paralyzed and he still remained covered in bruises and bandages from the attack on the Hill. CBC and many, many other news outlets filmed him and the government personnel that stood beside him as he gave the following speech:
"Ladies and gentlemen of the world, Canada has been attacked. Those outside Canada and the majority within the nation believe it was a purely domestic issue, a coup attempt by Canadians and funded by Canadians. But that is not the case. In the Canadian military's counter-attack against the terrorists, evidence was revealed that the Empire of France had both armed and funded these terrorists to coup the Canadian government and decapitate it with the use of its territories in the New World. Before this, Canada has been subjected to a number of heinous terror attacks, orchestrated by these very same terrorists with the intent to destabilize the government and destroy the well-being of our citizens. It is very possible that France is also behind attempts to destabilize the German government and may have also had their fingers in the Italian Civil War. With this said, the Canadian government and the Canadian people cannot allow this to continue nor happen even again.
The severity of these actions leave us with no choice but to respond in the defense of our nation and our people. Through the use of its colonies, France has created terror islands from which death and mayhem are fertilized. No civilized nation would accept this and Canada shall not accepted the continued use by the French of its colonial possessions to launch terrorism and acts of evil in the Americas.
Therefore, after careful consideration and in accordance with our constitutional obligations, I declare that a state of war exists between the Kingdom of Canada and the Empire of France. We will do the very best we can to uphold all international laws and the well-being of all French citizens upon these colonies.
May history judge our actions justly, and may we emerge from this conflict with the integrity of our nation intact. May the Lord watch over our men and women. May He grant us victory over his enemies. May we know peace once again."
And with that, the broadcast was over.
