Republic of Ireland representative, Dick Spring| Minister of Foreign Affairs calls Republic of Argentina Foreign Affairs Office on a secure and private line.

"Good day my name is Dick Spring, I am the Minister of Foreign Affairs with the Republic of Ireland I'd like to discuss setting up an embassy and establishing Visa rules with the Republic of Argentina. To whom do I have the pleasure of speaking to?"

The Director of the Office of European affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and trade of Argentina would take the private call.

"Good morning Minister Spring, how are? I am happy finally talking to someone from Ireland. We have been following your recent international activity and are interested in deepening our bilateral relations and commercial exchange. I can agree that discussing clear visa regulations and discussing the staffing of your Embassy here in Buenos Aires is a good starting point."

"I am doing fine, thank you for asking. As of right now Ireland offers a Standard and Free Irish Visa which includes showing Passport at custom which will grant a 30 day free travel of the country. An additional 30 days may be procured for free through your embassy and through our Department of Foreign Affairs. While in Ireland anyone on Visa must comply with all local law, if any law is broken then the Visa holder will be brought directly to their respective embassy for deportation at the expense of their home nation. If a Visa expires while the Visa holder is still in Ireland, they will be deported, again at the expense of their home nation. If this is something we can agree to I will update our Visa registry to include the Republic of Argentina.

As for the staffing of our Embassy in Buenos Aires we will be sending a Learjet45 with 13 Diplomatic Staff, 7 Mission Staff, and 4 Armed Guards, if this is acceptable. The Ambassador we are sending over is Justin Harman.

On to the topic of commercial exchange, Ireland at this time does not have any shipping vessels but the Port of Cork is being upgraded to manufacture said ships. Once it is complete and we have Ships to send our goods we produce are Pharmaceuticals, Machinery and equipment, Natural gas, Copper, Meat/Crops."

Mr. Spring pauses to hear back.

"I understand that your Government is entitled to deporting any foreigner that breaks the law. However, we find it a little bit too harsh to deport someone that has an expired visa of only few days, for example, an a reasonable argument for it. Maybe you could include some steps before actual deportitation? Like a fine and a mandatory appointment to extend the visa or leave the country.

Obviously we will be applying reciprocity, so we think that such a solution would be more, friendly, for both irish and argentine citizens.

As for the personnel, since it adheres to the limits established by the Government of Argentina, we approve them. However, we do need some mroe information on the weaponry of the 4 guards. In order to import personal weapons to Argentina they need to be declared at customs and registered at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, since they will be oeprated by official foreign personnel.

Finally, we look forward to establishing a more intese commerce between our nations and are interested in important pharmaceuticals, machinery and copper to Argentina. We can offer in return to export grain, vehicles, lithium, petroleum and soybeans and derivatives.

"As for the Deportation if the Visa expires, we will bring the citizen to your embassy here in Dublin, they may stay in the embassy however they will be illegally in the country if they step outside, except by escort to the airport. They may appeal the 90 day travel ban if they so choose. These are the conditions the government put into law.

However filing as reciprocity conditions may change. We can work out a system for Argentinian citizens to appeal and set up appointments for extended stay. Of course this will be at the expense of the citizen or your government, which ever you choose.

For the security personnel and their firearms we wish to bring, it would consist of 1 Sig Sauer P226 each, for a total of 4. The serial numbers are 112583, 112584, 112585, and 112586. Additionally we wish to bring 400 rounds of ammunition for the firearms. They would be used strictly for the protection of Ambassador Justin Harman.

As for trade we are interested in Lithium, and Petroleum for the Republic of Argentina. We of course will reciprocate with Pharmaceuticals, machinery and copper."

"Our embassy is small, we would prefer not to have any argentine citizen who has simply an expired visa to be brought there. Same in Argentina, we see no big issue in a simple expired visa. Obviously Ireland, as Argentina, have the right to deport foreigners in that situation. However, we think its rather extren to talk of immedaite detention and deportation. Given the friendly relations existing between our nations, we think it would be more aproppiate to talk about a fine and a period of time to regularize their migration status before deportation. Obviously unless there was a crime commited or something that endangers the irish or argentine society.

Regarding your personnel weaponry for security in Buenos Aires, they have been cleared and approved for importation.

Regarding trade, we are interested in making monthly shipments of Lithium and Petroleum to Ireland from the Port of Buenos Aires. Where should they unload their cargo? In return, Argentina would love to import monthly shipments of Pharmaceuticals and Machinery from Ireland.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade has convened, and will grant Argentinian citizens a fine off $500 if a visa expires and this price will double for each month they stay passed their expired visa date. If a Argentinian citizen stays for a year passed their visa date they will be detained and deported, They will still be required to pay the fine, however we understand that we have no jurisdiction in Argentina, and we will respect you sovereignty. However all other rules will apply with the visa as stated earlier.

We are happy to hear that our request for our firearms has been approved. We will of course only use them in defense of our Embassy.

We also accept these trade conditions. As of right now the only port we have available is The Port of Dublin. Once the renovation of Port Cork is complete will arrange travel of trading vessels to go there. If you have any further questions please contact me.

We have had some recent events that are of concern. I have been asking all Foreign Affairs offices to contact Seán Barrett, TD, Minister of Defence for any security questions."

"We can agree to those terms, and will obviously apply the same in Argentina, so that we are on the same page. We hope this loosening of the requirements and the new commerce will help increasing bilteral exchange and improve our relations state to state.

We will direct the exports to the Port of Dublin until Cork is ready. Please direct your own ships once they are ready to the Port of Buenos Aires.

Would you like to share yourn concerns with us? Is there any way we can be of help?
