Antsiranana
The town of Antsiranana was a distant and remote town in the North of Madagascar. On the outskirts, a large convoy of bandit vehicles, made up of technicals and lorries kicked up dust as they thundered into the town. Over 100 vehicles and 2,000 men made up the unknown force. Slowly they made their way into the centre of the town, heading straight for the main government hall. Driving through the busy streets, the armed men would begin to storm the hall. Taking city workers and elected officials hostage in the building while setting up a defensive perimeter blocks away from the hall. AK47s, RPGS and machine guns being set up ready for an inevitable counter offensive.
On the roof, a man stood firm at the flag pole saluting as a red flag was hoisted firmly into the air above the city. Outside of the city, a further convoy of over 1,000 men begun to weave its way into the city in support as the men of 7th brigade of the Madagascan army scrambled to prepare ready to launch a counter offensive, 3212 men scrambled to collect their weapons, ammunition and body armour. A reaction force consisting of 752 men was first to leave in a convoy of military logistic trucks. The men from 1st Battalion, 3rd Infantry Regiment raced towards the city hall with all available haste.
For the President, a phone call awoke her from the slumber. Eyes filled with terror as the second crises of her presidency sent her rushing to the underground situation room in the palace.
