The Royal Thai Government Gazette, frequently abbreviated Government Gazette (GG) or Royal Gazette (RG), is the public journal and newspaper of record of Thailand. Laws passed by the government generally come into force after publication in the GG. The Royal Thai Government Gazette is the first Thai-language newspaper to appear in the kingdom and is also one of the earliest newspapers in Asia that are still in publication. The Cabinet Secretariat, a department in the Office of the Prime Minister, is charged with printing the GG.

The Gazette was founded by King Rama IV, also known as Mongkut, in 1858.

Bombings and Attacks in the Southern Provinces
by Lek Sudham

Various terrorist organizations such as the Barisan Revolusi Nasional, Runda Kumpulan Kecil, Gerakan Mujahidin Islam Patani, Patani United Liberation Organisation, Jemaah Islamiyah, and the Mujahiden have taken responsibility for multiple bombings and attacks in the southern provinces bordering Malaysia that had spanned throughout the month of December. The reasoning behind these attacks is still largely unknown but many speculate that these terrorist organizations wish to secede from the Kingdom in hopes of forming a 'Free Islamic State' as most of these attacks were against Rattanakosin officials and Buddhist civilians.

On the 10th of December, five Royal Police Officers were killed and five others wounded in two roadside bomb attacks in the Yala Province. According to Royal Thai officials along with eyewitnesses, the attackers detonated a car bomb as a Royal Police van passed by, then opening fire on those who survived the explosion. On the 13th of December, at least thirteen Muslim insurgents were killed during a failed attack on the military base in Narathiwat. None of the Thai military defenders were hurt. Two days later, on the 15th of December, two Royal Police officers were killed and six others wounded in a roadside bombing. Suspected militants detonated an improvised bomb hidden on the road surface in Pattani Province's Panarae District. The officers were in two armored vehicles traveling to inspect damages from an earlier militant attack. On the 17th of December, four officers were killed and another four seriously injured while attempting to defuse a bomb. According to authorities, the blast happened after troops moved the device which was hidden under a gas tank and placed under a bridge near the Narathiwat military base. On the 19th of December, another attack occurred where police say suspected insurgents have killed six people including a two-year-old boy in the southern provinces. The latest attack, on the 21st of December, two persons were killed and five others were wounded in three separate assaults in Yala and Pattani provinces.

The Royal Armed Forces, mainly the Fourth Army, have been deployed across the southern provinces in hopes of quelling these attacks and bringing their actors to justice.
