Following a quick take over of Moscow by elements of the military have put into power Alexander Rutskoy, Ruslan Khasbulatov, and other Soviet/Communist hardliners from both the 1991 Soviet coup d'état attempt and 1993 Russian constitutional crisis. Notably, the military previously sided against Rutskoy. Another rising and noted figure that has been seen in this take over are that of Aleksandr Dugin, the author of the upcoming book Foundations of Geopolitics.



Acting President Rutskoy had this to say in a hastily assembled conference.



"Allowing the disillusion of the Soviet Union was a mistake, one that has harmed not just Russia, but all countries that were once a part of the Soviet Union. The dissolving of the Congress of People's Deputies and its Supreme Soviet in 1993 was a tragedy. The efforts of Gorbachev and Yeltsin while honest and well-meaning were naive and have done nothing but cause trouble for Russia and her people. Corruption, Greed, and in general crime have eaten Russia from the inside out. Economic reforms that were meant to bring freedom, have done nothing but oppress those that communism wished to uplift. No measures were put in place to stop such exploitation. Our nation has also lost much of what made people feel proud of our nation. Our friends in the military saw only too late what supporting this ill-thought-out reforms would bring them. A crippled nation which fruitlessly threw away lives in Chechnya. A government unwilling to hold what it has gained, and retreat a mere year later. Russia and its sibling nations need healing, and it needs medicine. The economic reforms of the past did not work, and the path forward must be changed. Make no mistake, we do not plan to return to the outdated modes of thinking of the past. But instead, we plan on carving out a new way forward. However, some stand to lose much from a Communist return to power. They will do all they can to prevent the return of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic. They will come and plunge our nation into war for no other reason but greed or ignorance. Then some will sit on the sideline until they know who will win. So I ask this.



I ask that all our Comrades in the revolution and Communism itself show their solidarity. Ukraine, China, and North Korea. We have had our differences, I will admit that. But, to avoid unnecessary bloodshed it must be shown that greed and ignorance will not go unnoticed. While we can not change the path, we have an opportunity to grasp this opportune moment."

Petro Symenenko, Chairman of the Ukrainian Communist Party, and Premier of The Soviet Socialist Republic of Ukraine, would make a statement to Ukrainian, Russian, and international television and radio press. He would give the statement in perfect Russian.

"Comrades in Russia, friends across the world. It is with great earnest that my government officially recognizes the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic as the official and only government in Russia. Ukraine will only conduct business with this government. We strongly urge the world, in the name of security and stability do the same.

To our brothers in revolution in Russia, we stand with you. The Ukraine and her people are here to provide whatever aid to your struggle and security that we can. I have already authorized shipments of our grain surplus to Moscow. We look forward to discussions with your government, and to exchanges with your people. We look forward to a thriving relationship between Kyiv and the Kremlin. The fall of the Soviet Union was devastating for both our peoples and for many others across Eastern Europe. In our renewed revolution, let them see the peace, prosperity, and security, that they seek."

In private, the Indian government would be discussing this event. No one in the government supported the obvious violent uprising of the Russian communists and their coup d'etat. But after some debate, it was decided that with the two most powerful nations in Asia now being communist that it was undoubted that Russia and China would work in some manner in the future and therefore, for the safety of India, the government would decide that they would recognize Russia's new government.

The Prime Minister would, publicly, hold his decision on the matter. "While India does not support the way that Russia has achieved their new government, we do hope that with this new governance that the nation will finally be able to enter a state of stability where the Russian people may prosper and peace can reign within the nation. Because of this hope, the Indian government hereby officially recognizes the new Russia government of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic as the only government in Russia.

Thank you."

Back in the privacy of their own homes, however, the government officials prepared themselves for the worst.
