It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the international community, and wish you the best of luck on your term, and your government. It shows that the democratic institutions of Turkey are in a good shape and a example to follow. We would like to kick start relations with Turkey by talking about your objectives regarding the Mediterranean Sea, as well as being a bridge between Europe and Asia. As I understand that the Bosporus Strait is a highly important water way that should not be used to stop international trade and civilian shipping, but we know that the Republic of Turkey must protect its interests in that area.

We hope to create a Mediterranean dialogue with Turkey in order to push for the prosperity of the region.

Dear Minister,

Greetings Minister Carlos Westendorp y Cabeza, It is a delight to message you today and begin formal diplomatic relations with you. Turkey wishes to expand its relations with members of the Mediterranean and to increase trade as well throughout the regions with friends and allies and it is hoped that Spain can become a key partner with the Republic of Turkey. As you have mentioned, Turkey undeniably has a major presence in the Mediterranean region and we plan to only expand. We will disclose to you that our objective is to control a new passage of trade between Asia and Europe, the Mediterranean is this passageway and with the Suez canal just nearby. But the current goal is to become the new gateway to Asia with a soon to be announced Massive Multibillion-dollar project that will change the entire Middle East and render, at least from an Arab perspective the Suez Canal Obsolete. The Mediterranean of course will still be quite valuable and Turkey means to let passage of free trade like the previous government administration. We do have plans though to restrict trade in our own territorial water to nations who have an negative relationship with Turkey. This May or May not include the Syrian Arab Republic due to a number of Confidential reasons. The Bosporus strait is also in Turkish Claimed Waters and therefore will be subject to the above decision to limit access to those who are enemies of Turkey but allow free trade to those who are deemed friends or neutral in their relations to Turkey.
