It is with a heavy heart and somber mind that I reach out to you today. Upon hearing about the heartbreaking devastating accident regarding the Portuguese Royal Family, I could not resist myself to share a shattered spirit. The Royal Family has been a stabilizing institution in Portuguese, and I could not imagine how tough it is for the Portuguese people to go through a time like this.

I have been informed that, under the constitution of Portugal, your nation is in a period of heartrending transition into a Presidential Republic. Thailand itself, a beacon of democracy and human rights in Asia, is so too a Republic nation. As the head of state of the Republic of Thailand, I fully support this transition of Portugal into a Presidential Republic, and I hope I can provide any necessary assistance to your nation. Our nation has also recently gone through a period of identity crisis after the inception of the Thai Republic. We understand your situation of how it feels to travel in the labyrinthine paths without the Royal Family to guide us forward.

From this moment, all Thai flags across our nation and the world will be half-staffed. The Thai Government, as the representative of a free population, will salute for the good and the remembrance of the late Portuguese Royal Family.

Mister Prime Minister,

I thank you, for your kind words, that have warmed our collective hearts of my citizens. It is true that the following months will be paved with hardship and sorrow, but I feel that our citizenship will endure and prosper.

The death of our Royal family, as left us leaderless, baring just one pillar of our nation. Our constitution. Our constitution is guiding us through this process of loss, in its provisions, it forces us down the path of reorganization into a Republic, headed by a President and its cabinet, with the ideals that no man should fear another man and that the government should rule with the people and for the people and by the people.

In my many meetings with King Duarte II, he always and in every political crisis and in every turmoil would always advise me that the state and its people comes first. We are their servants, their voice in the world. This is how I intend to conduct my internal and external policy, with those words in mind.

I thank you again for your kind words, and for your remarkable support for our people, and I hope to meet with you again in better and happier circumstances
