Prime Minister,

Our two countries have recently fought side by side in a war against a common enemy. A common struggle against evil united our countries when many - perhaps even those in our governments - thought that we would not be able to do so. The United States hopes that our countries can have a fruitful and united stance against wrongdoing and possibly formal political, diplomatic, and military cooperation in the future. In hopes of fostering good will between our countries, I am pleased to inform you that the Swedish citizens are now free to visit and conduct business in the United States, as before, provided that they are able to obtain visas. Effective immediately, Swedish citizens are now able to apply for visas and obtain them within three months (provided that they have no criminal convictions or other matters that may cause a denial). This is the present standard that the United States holds most other nations to. I am told that President Gore looks forward to meeting you in London.

Dear Lincoln Johansson,

Whilst the United States of America and the Kingdom of Sweden have not always seen eye-to-eye in the political arena, we can be unanimous in our support for one another through the War of the Middle East which, as part of the coalition, has undoubtedly saves thousands, if not millions of lives. Our approach as one has created a unique bond between our nations that whilst our differences remain, we are able to cooperate with one another in a way that encompasses the core values of the ethical global community.

Your correspondence is of great receipt and we are pleased that civilians are free to visit and conduct business in the Unites States - something which I am sure will significantly benefit the tourism, financial and business sectors of our economies. This message has been forwarded onwards to the Department of Foreign Affairs to make the relevant changes to our International Travel Advisory via the Bureau for American Affairs.

Please pass my appreciation onwards to President Gore and that I too very much look forward to seeing him in the upcoming conference.
