All of the ships, personnel and equipment would be given a 24 hour notice period so that they could arrive in due time, say goodbye to families etc and be prepared for the deployment

Now that all of the troops and equipment had arrived and got situated on the ships, they would begin to leave port. With the ships coming together from two different ports they would be meeting in the middle of the Ocean. Those from San Diego would leave via CM and those from Everett would leave via CN. They would both travel for ten hours and meet up in BM before travelling to BL to station at Naval Station Pearl Harbour. The Commander of the fleet would be Rear Admiral Alvin Holsey stationed on the Carl Vinson, his second in command, but not Executive Officer of the Carl Vinson, would be Captain David Miller aboard the USS Boxer and the Command Master Chief of the operation would be Master Chief Petty Officer Robert Everson.

Once the Carrier Strike Group left territorial waters and entered the Exclusive Economic Zone, they would begin Anti-Ship exercises. A single E-2 Hawkeye from Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron 125 would be fixed onto the catapult as it powers up it's engines and extends the wings. Soon after this, the catapult would launch the aircraft from the bow of the ship as it takes flight above the fleet. Not long after this, two F/A-18D Hornets from Strike Fighter Squadron 22 would be fitted onto the catapults, both would be armed with: 1× 20 mm (0.787 in) M61A1 Vulcan 6-barreled Gatling cannon, with 578 rounds, 2 x AIM-120 AMRAAM on the wingtips, 4 x AGM-84 on underwing and fuesalge. The guards raise up behind the aircraft as the afterburners come onto full power, soon after the catapults launch the aircraft one after the other. Once in the air, they orbit around the ships a few times so they can get into a formation, before from the Carl Vinson, a Killer Tomato is launched into the water. The Drogue Chute fills up with water to keep it in place and make sure the window doesn't blow it all over. The Radar reflectors would be upright in the water to allow the jets to pick on up on it, along with the E-2.

They bank onto the killer tomato as it floats around in the water, the first jet comes in for a low strafe. The sound of the cannon would thunder out as the rounds just clip the edge of the tomato. The second jet was more lucky however, hitting the tomato dead center with its guns. Once beginning to deflate, they would bank in for another attack. Both beginning to lock on to the radar signal given out by the refelectors, they would each launch a single harpoon missile at a 3 second interval. Sure enough, the missiles would hit dead center of the tomato. Bits of red fabric are blown all over the place as the jets do a victory lap around the ships. Remaining in the air for a while before coming in to land on the Carl Vinson, catching the arresting ropes, they would land after each other so they obviously wouldn't crash. The E-2 Hawkeye would follow in closely behind them.

The vessels would have met up after the ten hours of sailing and then continued onto Oahu in Hawaii. They would have began to dock in Pearl Harbour Naval Station, the forces already stationed in Pearl Harbour would moore the ships to the docks. The crew members would disembark and begin to mix and talk to those already stationed there. Rear Admiral Alvin Holsey would meet up with his second in command Captain David Miller and the commander of the ground forces Major General David F. Bice to discuss the further plans for the operation. Including patrols of the waters around Hawaii and up towards Guam and the possibility of movements towards Russia.

The only crew not to disembark would be those on the USS O'Kane, the ship, after a brief refuelling, would set off to patrol the the entrance towards Pearl Harbour although it was a sort of relaxed patrol as there was no immediate danger threat at the moment. Once inside Pearl, the sailors would be told that rather than being assigned barracks, they would remain in the bunks of their ships incase of immediate deployment needs or attack. Plans were also being drawn up for an exercise between Air Force units stationed at Hickam Air Force Base and the aircraft currently on the Carl Vinson.

The Operation had been deemed completed, all of the men and women were given orders to return to their ships to set sail towards the respective home ports. Before they set off, the ships would be fuelled up to maximum capacity, along with stores being brought in from the Naval base to make sure each ship had enough provisions to make the trip back. Once they left port, it was decided that the USS Howard and USS Michigan would take part in anti-missile defence and anti-submarine exercises on the way back. Moving away from the main fleet, however not to far, the exercise would commence.

Location: CIC of the USS Howard Time: 12:30pm Petty Officer First Class James Nishioka, a Fire controlman, would be sat in his chair, watching the screen in front of him. The crew had been told there would be an exercise later in the day, however they wouldn't be told what the exercise would hold. Soon after, a beeping could be heard from his monitor. "What the.." he exclaims quietly as he sits up straight, staring at the screen in front of him. It'd only take a few seconds before he realised what was going on, before blaring into the mouthpiece of his headset. "T.A.O ballistic missile fire detected!" "Missiles?!" The T.A.O would respond, before snapping to her monitor. "Climbing, just came over the horizon!" Nishioka would continue, meanwhile, all of this information would be getting relayed in real-time to the Bridge. Commander Brian Simpkin, Captain of the USS Howard, would shout out into the bridge "Set General Quarters!" The Officer of the Deck would run to the panel on the wall, opening it up and begin speaking into it. "General Quarters, General Quarters. All hands, man your battle stations. General quarters is up and forward to the starboard side. Down and aft to the portside." Soon after this is said, an alarm would begin ringing out around the ship as crews begin putting on flash gear and fastening themselves into position if thats what they needed to do. Back in the CIC, at the same time General Quarters is declared, the crew begin their plans to intercept. "They're diverging, already pretty spread out!" "How many we got?" "Fifteen.. now sixteen, now seventeen." "Nishioka, calculate a target to intercept" "Calculating ma'am" "Fire SM-2s to intercept" "Batteries release on every target you got. Now!" "Aye ma'am, batteries releasing on all tracks." Doors would begin swinging open on both the rear and front Vertical Launch Systems as the RIM-156 SM-2 Extended Range missiles begin launching out of the ship and into the air, diverging to chase down the target missiles. "Birds away, track 2-5-7-1, 2-5-7-2, 2-5-7-3" The T.A.O would continue counting out the tracks as more and more missiles launch. It would take a while for it to be confirmed whether they hit..
