Diego Garcia has a very limited presence, under authorisation of the Royal Navy, HMS Albion will be carrying out a visit to the highly-secure Asian Base which is a valuable strategic point for the Independent States Allied Forces. They will be delivering vehicles, whilst also a possible tour of the Pakistan Navy as per discussions between the British and Pakistan Governments. The Vessel will stop at any British Ports along the way for refuel or re-supply if needed, taking the following route:
IO > IN > IM > JM > KM > KL > LK > MK > MJ
With the route confirmed, they were given confirmation to be able to begin setting off immediately when ready. Ospreys from 847 Squadron were given the opportunity to carry out leisure flights along the way, including a fly-past in Gibraltar as Albion enters the Mediterranean.

HMS Albion, the Albion Class Landing Platform Dock had come to arrive at Diego Garcia. The trip had resulted in flights from the CV-22B carrying out trial flights throughout. Receiving permissions from the port masters at Diego Garica, the vessel begun to move in and come to a halt in a safe designated point which would allow the equipment to be unloaded. The Pakistani Navy was made aware of the arrival of HMS Albion which would also grant their own ship to arrive for their tour. The 100 Complement from the Commando Logistics Group were to be focusing on unloading the 20 ISAF Swift Vehicles which would be stationed at Diego Garcia, and used as the mode of transport for the planned tour. The Two Ospreys were to retain an active presence with air patrols around the island.

Operation Morning Glory

Top Secret and Classified

Operational Background: Pakistan Navy G-Class Guided-Missile Frigate PNS Ayub Khan is to sail to the British Indian Ocean Territory of Diego Garcia on a friendly port call to the strategically vital British naval station. PNS Ayub Khan is to depart Jinnah Naval Base situated in Ormara, a strategic naval base within Balochistan Province, in order to carry an official delegation from the Pakistan Armed Forces to Diego Garcia for an official review and tour of the new naval facilities and fortifications that the Royal Navy and ISAF had constructed at Diego Garcia. The official delegation from the Pakistan Armed Forces was headed by the Chief of Naval Staff of the Pakistan Navy, Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi, while Lt. General Raheel Sharif, as well as nearly a dozen other ranking officers from all the branches of the Pakistan Armed Forces were also aboard the PNS Ayub Khan, in order to help facilitate closer military-to-military ties between the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the United Kingdom.

The Pakistan Navy was seeking to establish a heavily fortified and hardened air/coastal defense facility, which would protect the entrance to the economically and strategically critical Karachi Harbor. The Pakistan Navy had selected two potential locations for this strategically vital facility off of Karachi, which was deemed as necessary to ensure the anti-access/area denial capabilities of the Pakistan Navy, which were deemed so critical in keeping Karachi Port open in a war with either India or Iran. The two remaining locations were Baba Bhit Island, located within the center of Karachi Harbor, as well as the peninsula of Manora Point, located just south of Karachi Harbor. The official delegation from the Pakistan Navy intended to tour the recently built facilities and fortifications within Diego Garcia, in order to determine what location controlling access to Karachi Harbor was most suitable for use by the Pakistan Navy. While the official delegation from the Pakistan Armed Forces also planned on negotiating a significant purchase from Ziron Group, which would supply arms and various other systems to all branches of the Pakistan Armed Forces.

The Pakistan Navy G-Class Guided Missile Frigate PNS Ayub Khan would sail the following route to Diego Garcia ML > MK > MJ.

Location: British Indian Ocean Territory of Diego Garcia

Logistical Details: Pakistan Navy G-Class Guided-Missile Frigate PNS Ayub Khan will be fully armed, fueled, fully supplied before departing Jinnah Naval Base. Before the voyage back to Jinnah Naval Base from Diego Garcia, the PNS Ayub Khan would take on any fuel, stores, and supplies, required for the Pakistan Navy G-Class Guided-Missile Frigate to make the return journey to Jinnah Naval Base within Ormara, Balochistan Province.

At Diego Garcia, the crew of HMS Albion had been given the chance to relax and get accustomed to the ISAF-dominated military base. A base that only in the last couple of years had seen up to 10 billion dollars worth of investment on infrastructure and defences. Marking it as one of the most protected bases globally. Acknowledging the visit from the Pakistan Navy, PNS Ayub Khan was granted special access to make port at Diego Garcia with security supported by the Commando Logistics Group, armed with their standard L85A2 Rifles. Once the Pakistani ship was in proximity, an Osprey was planned to carry out a low fly-past as a 'welcome'. With the Captain of HMS Albion, and the crew, ready to greet that of their Pakistani Counterparts with the ISAF Swift Vehicles prepared to take them to where they can have a meeting on the island.

HMS Albion had been stationed for sometime in Diego Garcia, a routine stationing which was hopefully going to be a good political move to advance relations with the Pakistan Governments. Recent news has highlighted the collapse of the Pakistan Government which has left Operation Platinum untasked. Equipment had begun to be re-boarded onto the Albion Class Landing Platform Dock which included the ISAF Swifts. Hours later and the vessel was ready to go, leaving no equipment that was originally deployed left behind. It's destination? Home. The vessel had begun to depart fully fuelled and supplied to return to it's home port in the UK with the expectation that it was due to arrive within days. The families of those deployed informed of their planned return and overall, concluding Operation Platinum.
