Tanjug (/'tʌnjʊg/) (Serbian Cyrillic: Танјуг) is a Serbian state news agency based in Belgrade. Founded in November 1943 as Yugoslavia's official news agency, its name is an acronym of its full original native name Telegrafska agencija nove Jugoslavije ("Telegraphic Agency of the New Yugoslavia"). From 1975 to mid-1980s, Tanjug had a leading role in the Non-Aligned News Agencies Pool (NANAP), a collaborating group of news agencies of the Non-Aligned Movement. The Yugoslav professionals helped equipping and training journalists and technicians in other NAM countries, mainly in Africa and South Asia.

Special Election of 2013; Šešelj Wins Big​


Jubilee today in some quarters of Belgrade as the Serbian Radical Party, led by Vojislav Šešelj, has won big in the Serbian Special Elections of 2013. Capturing nearly 45% of the 250 seats in the National Assembly, grabbing large numbers in local assemblies as well. Many of the reasons posited have been the failure of the Serbian Peoples' Party to maintain stability in the government while being active in the realm of modern geopolitics, as well as a wish for Serbia to reclaim a certain amount of glory that has been lost since the loss of territories such as Montenegro and Kosovo, which has been blamed by the SRS on Western Intervention. A young SRS Candidate of the age of 25, named Žarko Davidović, has earned a landslide victory in the Serbian Presidential Election, ensuring that he will, at least for the near future, be leading the Union of Greater Serbia into the future.

Dadvidović and his party have promised a new age for Serbia, one in which all Serbs will be under the protective eye of the Serbian Union.

Speech by the President of the Union of Serbia​


"I have been informed today by two separate states, that military action will ensue if my nation refuses to relent to the Kosovar Government. Not only am I refusing this statement, but my refusal is required by policy and by law. Serbia does not negotiate with terrorists, much less those domestic terrorist groups who bomb our police stations, wage an illegal war against our country, commit to drug trafficking and human trafficking, and most of all run operations designed to extract and sell, on the black market, the organs of Serbian citizens. That is exactly what the Kosovoan Government is, a mere extension of the Kosovo Liberation Army, shown by the pervasiveness of the organization's leaders in the top level of all their politics, security, police, and cultural apparatuses. If this wasn't enough, the same sort of Islamist Extremist influences which are behind recent attacks in the United States and Russia have been allowed to fester under the watchful eye of malicious organizations from Saudi Arabia. This cannot be accepted. Nor can the freedom and political aspirations of war criminals and terrorists such as the leaders of this organization be allowed to continue. Many forget that Serbia is the country hosting the largest number of internally displaced populations in the whole of Europe, more forget that it was the KLA's NATO-Backed ethnic cleansing that created that status.

Those Serbian leaders responsible for the disaster of the 1990s have already been arrested, tried, and have faced punishment at the hands of our tribunals for their part in the many crimes of that Era. We see no hope of the same happening for those leaders in Kosovo who committed much of the same. As such, major leaders of the Kosovar Government, including Agim Çeku, Ramush Haradinaj, Fatmir Limaj, Hakim Thaci, are being transported to Belgrade, to be tried as the terrorists they are. I swear to the Serbian People that I will exact justice on these criminals, I will do my utmost to secure the safe return of 200,000 displace Serbian Kosovars to their homes, and I will do my utmost to turn Kosovo from a shithole of a country, leading Europe in the number of elected war criminals, human trafficking, organized crime, and drug trafficking, into a region of Serbia safe for Albanians and Serbs, safe from terrorists, from exploitation by foreign powers, and from governance by terrorists and war criminals."
