Day One

"Welcome Conference to the inaugural meeting of our party" The chairman of the Conservative Party announces to a packed conference room. 1,000 members were inside the building attending the conference. Opposite the stage, national media was gathered with foreign press if they so wished. "We came from virtual non existence in the previous election thanks to your strong support and your hard work. To that conference I say thank you."

Applause filled the auditorium as outside the police officers patrolled the strong chain barrier built around the building. CCTV was operational and entry limited to 4 manned checkpoints protected by 10 officers each with sub machine guns or assault rifles based on their preference. The motorcades that had swept the selected delegates to the conference stood ready to ex fill them out if so required. Riot police stood in front of the small crowd of protesters outside one of the security checkpoints while the SWAT team remained on stood by, ready to tackle threats towards the conference.

"Over the next few days you will hear and decide the future platform from which we as a party will run our great nation. The Prime Minister and our cabinet will work hard to bring into law your votes tonight. Your votes will confirm or deny the current proposals which you will hear shortly but before I call our first speaker, I would once again like to echo the thoughts of senior party leaders in saying your hard work and dedication will lead this party to achieve great things. It is now my great honour to call our first speaker, Minister of Health Chirstine Atallah"

The Minister for health enters the stage from the left as the Chairman departs the podium. A speech clutched in one hand the minister smiles to the audience as she begins.

"Thank you conference, ladies and gentlemen. The health system of this country is filled by some of the most dedicated and selfless health care workers in the world. They work in some of the most challenging conditions and often in environments that lack the investment which they so desperately need. Which is why our government proposes the introduction of a scheme allowing by the release of $20 Billion dollars to form a new network of regional healthcare facilities to be run by the central government. The system will be funded by the tax payer and has been a campaign pledge by our current Prime Minister and supported by the Royal Family.

In addition, the government will up its efforts to complete the eradication of the plague within the capital and surrounding cities. To secure our future prosperity we must secure our future generations and return such a vile disease to the bygone era of history. We intend to achieve this through the investment in secure and funded public health services such as sewage and rubbish disposal. The government will invest funding into these schemes, with the intention to sell on these companies when conditions have improved.

Finally conference, we will look to build a robust trauma network of hospitals using 21st and cutting edge technology. The network will consist of Trauma doctors in the field being deployed by helicopters and fast response vehicles to begin extensive treatment at the scene. Our intention is to reduce the time taken to receive hospital care, by bringing the emergency department to the patient. We will invest in the research of new methods and techniques to lead the way in Pre-hospital and Trauma healthcare.

If you vote to release this policy to our manifesto, we can lead the way in healthcare and it's research globally. Let Madagascar's strong and stable leadership pave the way for new and exciting healthcare interventions"
