As part of it's hope to shed it's former Communist history and endorse the arts and culture of other nations, the Ministry of Culture in Hanoi would invite numerous artists throughout the month of December to perform in an intense, three week-long music festival mirroring that of the one in Coachella Valley. The music festival would incorporate numerous artists from a variety of genres, ranging from classical symphonies to raging electronic raves. However, the most anticipated event would be the appearance of the Canadian rock group "Nickelback", who would be front-lining the rock section of the December Dragon Music Festival.

As per regulations, Nickelback would be invited to Hanoi early to take part in the festivities and in a meet-and-greet of top Vietnamese government officials. Taking a first-class plane to Vietnam, they would be ushered from the airport to the Presidential Palace. However, the car would get into a horrible accident and all members of the band would be killed or maimed to the point where they could no longer perform permanently. Thankfully, no Vietnamese nationals or civilians were hurt.

Under investigation, it would be revealed that the cause of death was human error. During the car ride to the Palace, the band had asked for the radio to be turned on. Coincidentally, the song that had immediately come on was Nickelback's hit single "How You Remind Me". In the driver's haste to turn it off, the car swerved, crashed into another vehicle, and flipped over.
