Yaakov Drach, CEO and founder of Aegis Defense Services, would use a private line to contact the Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade, and Infrastructure in the hopes of being able to purchase office space within Japan.
The line rang to an automated message, asking for language selection. "Press 1 for Japanese, press 2 for English." After the language choice was made, a receptionist at the Ministry of Economics, Trade, and Industry answered the phone in the selected language. "Greetings, you have reached the office of the Ministry of Economics, Trade, and Industry and also the office of the Deputy Prime Minister. How may I direct your call?"
"Good afternoon, miss. My name is Yaakov Drach, CEO and Founder of Aegis Armed Services. May I be directed to the Minister of Economic, Trade, and Industry, please?"
"One moment please..." After some time the call was transferred to Ichiro Ozawa. "Greetings, this is the Deputy Prime Minister speaking. Aegis Armed Services, I have not heard of your company but I assume you are defense contractors or salesmen. We may have need for either. But since you have called, how may we help you? Unfortunately, my time availability is extremely limited at the moment so we will have to make this conversation quick."
"Yes, we are! We're a mercenary group employing those who are retired from armed services, in their reserves, or independent skilled people in the need of a steady workplace. We offer everything from armed protection, security counselling, peacekeeping, special operations, and everything in-between. It's good to hear that Japan may have the need for us, we offer a large discount to all nations who host one of our headquarters. Which is why I have contacted you; I was hoping that we would be able to purchase office space in Tokoyo to serve as our Asian Headquarters. While none of our armed equipment would be stationed there, it would serve as the office where all Asian nations can contact us and contract us.
"We welcome your organization with open arms here in Japan. You are free to purchase office space. Of course, we ask that any and all corporations acting within Japan observe Japan's laws. This is especially important for a mercenary company to note and observe. That being said, our government is interested in your services because we currently have a large number of soldiers that are not fully armed and equipped. While they possess all small arms necessary to wage a modern war, we are lacking in heavy equipment for them. Rather than having these soldiers sit in reserve or form rear-rifle battalions, we are willing to allow them to work and train within your organization - subject to caveats of course. These soldiers will be placed on a reserve list for Japan, freeing them to work across the world, but able to be called as needed. We will only call these soldiers last and in an emergency. Given that our soldiers speak Japanese, with some limited English ability, we would like to largely preserve these units as in-tact, Japanese led, units, especially on the company level.
We would have to discuss Japan's compensation for these forces, if your company is interested in such a proposal"
