Having received confirmation of time and place for the private meeting, the ambassador and his entourage would depart the Embassy building.

They would go straight to the iranian ministry and present themselves at the reception. Once at the ministers office the Ambassador would politely bow and extend his hand in greeting.

The meeting would apparently be in the private office of the Minister, and no external individuals or media coverage would be present at the moment.

"Minister Kharazi, it is a pleasure meeting you in person, and let me thank you for having us on such a short notice. I am Norberto Briasco, argentine ambassador to Iran.

I can imagine that you and your administration have a lot of work these days, and it must be hard to allocate time for this particular bilateral meetings
. Again, thank you for receiving us."

"Minister Briasco, it is my job and pleasure to conduct the diplomatic affairs of the Islamic Republic, I do also have the privilege to delegate lesser matters to my underlings in order to facilitate meeting such as these.

How may I be of assistance today?"

"We requested this meeting in order to establish a formal link of communication between our nations. One of my countries current main foreign policies is the South-South Cooperation. For such, we look to closely work with emerging markets and nations sometimes relegated by the "establishment" countries in order to help them rise on their own and be actively involved in global affairs. It is our understanding that a fair world can only be achieved with the involvement of all parties and not just from a hand-few of nations imposing their own agendas and interests.

With that said, we would like to increase bilateral commerce between Argentina and Iran, as well as look into the possibility of the Argentine Cooperation and Development agency, the ADCA, to help iran develop its infrastructure and industry.

We have also seen that your administration set up a very complete website for selling of military and civilian hardware, which is being reviewed as we speak back in Buenos Aires for potential purchases.

Would you be able to point out your nation's main policies and objectives? That way we could try identify areas of mutual interest to focus on.

"So the main Policies of Iran are simple to develop our nation and the nations of friendly actors without persecution from un-friendly states, this will also expand the area of influence of the Islamic Republic. Our objectives are 1. to become self sufficient in the production of our military equipment. 2. Become a regional leader in order to counter extremism. 3. To build partnerships with other nations that will be mutually beneficial.

My government would not be opposed to the creation of the ADCA depending on the details that would entail.

Our arms industry is small compared to most nations and we are willing to make specific variants to be sold exclusively to interested parties. We have many projects in the works and will be expanding our markets periodically. "

"Well, Argentina has currently diplomatic ties with Turkey, Syria and Saudi Arabia in your region. We understand that your relation to some of those countries might not be the best, historically speaking, but we would be able to try help ease up the first contacts. Being the Middle East a key region in glboal economy, it is of most importance that it remains stable, and having a regional power such as Iran actively involved in regional politics can only benefit this in cotnrast with the lack of active participation during the last years in that area.

Perhaps we could talk commercial affairs to start our bilateral relation? Argentina currently exports vehicles, grain, soybean derivates, among other things, but we understand that these three goods would be proper ones to offer to the iranian market. In return we would also open up the argentine market for potential iranian products your Government might want to export.

"Agreed Turkey and Saudi Arabia are 2 powers that would be classified as un-friendly however the Islamic Republic would like to change that in the future as the three of us would be a strong bulwark against extremism in the area. It is of vital importance to the Islamic Republic that the region remain stable and open for trade.

Iran exports Oil and Natural Gas as well as chemicals, plastics, fruits, ceramic products and metals. I believe we can work out a trade deal that will benefit both of us."

"We would be interested in importing iranian plastics, fruits and chemical products, in exchange for being able to export vehicles, grain and soybean derivated to Iran.

For such trade, if Iran agree's, we could offer our own merchan navy to carry out the shipping, with argentin evessels carrying our goods to the port of your designation and in return loading on them the iranian trade to bring back to Argentina. We could do this until Iran itself manages to create and develop its own merchant navy.

We currently have a Destroyer deployed in the indian ocean, performing anti-piracy operations, to provide further safeguard to our trade routes while crossing the dangerous weathers near the Horn of Africa.

"That is great, Iran will be happy with the trade as you described.

When Iran has built her first warships we will be happy to join your anti-piracy mission."

"We will set up the mentioned trade routes. Which frequency do you consider pertinent? Monthly shipments? Also, through which ports do you wish to conduct the trade? On our side ships will be leaving and arriving from and to the port of Buenos Aires.

Also, we look forward to conduct joint anti-piracy operations in the area. We would also be interested in working together with the Iranian Navy in the meantime by inviting iranian officers on board our Destroyers when they are in the area. We can schedule a patrol on the Persian Guld and Gulf of Oman for that pourpose.

"Monthly shipments will be acceptable, Bandar Abbas will be the port in which they will take on the goods.

We will start the recruitment of naval personnel and will get back to you when they are ready to join your ships."

"We look forward to have a close cooperation with the iranian navy, to safeguard strategic trade routes such as the ones crossing the Strait of Ormuz.

As for the trade, we will then submit the corresponding paperwork to set up monthly trade routes from Buenos Aires to Bandar Abbas, exporting vehicles, grain and soybean derivated to Iran and returning to Argentina with iranian plastics, fruits and chemical products.

Is there any way Argentina can help Iran settling down and speeding up its cconsolidation in the international scene?"
