Official Statement

The Government of the Republic of Argentina has been informed of the recent disturbing news regarding an armed intervention by part of the Federative Republic of Brazil in the neighbouring French Guyana, consequence of the ongoing Dispute between both cointries.
The Republic of Argentina condemns the use of force in cases where diplomacy is possible. As it is well known, our Government interceded in more than one opportunity as mediator in the bilateral dispute between Brazil and France, that resulted in the illegal detention of argentine diplomats in Paris, and continues to exists through the detention of brazilian diplomats in the french capital. Being the brazilian apologies, as requested by the french leadership, given and ignored -France failing to release the brazilian personnel as previously agreed-, another step towards a bilateral escalation has been decided by the french Government.
In this context, it is very clear that the brazilian-french dispute is a matter of uttermost importance to world stability and it cannot be allowed to escalate any further. This issue has to be solved between Brazil and France alone, and no external nations are entitled to interfere. We call for both sides to sit down and negotiate a peaceful solution.
In the meantime, the Republic of Argentina offers itself as mediator between the parts, but we also make it clear that the Government of the Republic of Argentina will not tolerate any external interference or involvement, considering this a strictly bilateral matter. Should any third Party interfere, it will be considered an act of war against the Republic of Argentina.

Canada has vowed to protect the nation of France and its citizens against the aggression shown by the Brazilian administration, it has also vowed to support the French Administration in protecting their citizens against the rouge, poorly administered Brazilian Government.

Canada has and will issue a statement in due course but has also told Argentina to back off from this dispute due to their closeness with Brazil, who are most likely helping the invasion and annexing of the French land

Italy would declare it is entirely in support of the citizens of France in this situation, and it will take action to ensure their continued safety and freedom from unwelcome occupation by a government which has proven on the world stage to be incapable of maintaining peaceful and regular relations with the international community. If military action is required to maintain the peaceable situation which the world has enjoyed, then the Kingdom of Italy is willing to take any action necessary.

Èire would condemn the actions of Brazil and would urge both sides of the conflict to find a peaceful and thus civilised means of resolving their disputes lest all out war break out as a result of foolhardy choices. Irish shipping to Brazil would be temporary discounted until a peaceful resolution is reached. Irish citizens would be advised to keep a low profile and stay in touch with the embassy in Brasilia until things return to normal. Èire would encourage Argentina to put pressure upon Brazil to discontinue its campaign of aggression in order to restore the peace.

Italy would announce that it is co-opting navigational and maritime control throughout the entirety of the Strait of Sicily excepting Tunisian and Maltese Territorial waters, to ensure the continued security of the Sicilian Archipelago. Henceforth, no military ships from belligerent or possibly belligerent parties, specifically those of Argentina and Brazil, were to be admitted to the strait. Furthermore, to enforce this action, Italy announced that it would undertake a Police Action to screen and secure these waters.

A Brazilian spokesperson would respond to the Irish government by stating, "A peaceful resolution was agreed upon but the French reneged on their promise to release the Brazilian hostages after a formal Brazilian apology."

The Brazilian spokesman would ask the Canadian and Italian governments, "Why would you support invading Brazil's embassies and taking their citizen's hostage, when in fact, Brazil never harmed a single French citizen through this entire ordeal.

I will say it again, for emphasis, Brazil has never harmed a single French citizen, and the ones detained at the airport in Rio were detained for minutes at best. Not sixty days.

But, it is France you support? Perhaps if you did encourage France's behavior, diplomacy would not have failed and the annexation of Guiana would not have been necessary to get our hostages back?"

Singapore would reaffirm it's commitment to honoring its alliance with the French Republic against the threat of foreign aggression. It is reiterated that a declaration of war against Brazil remains on the table once word is received of the French government's desire to rightfully defend their territory. With the Royal Armed Forces currently on high alert since the inception of Brazil's current fiasco, it is made public that a state of war for the Kingdom would bring about increased naval activity throughout the waters of Southeast Asia, and the Royal Navy maintains extreme confidence in its ability to shut down the Straits of Singapore, as well as prevent vessels from violating those waters, both civilian and military.

Èire would emphasize neutrality over favouritism but would make it clear that both France and Brazil are in the wrong, being equally responsible for the conflict at present. As Èire no longer has diplomatic relations with either side, we see no reason to be involved any further as this might arouse suspicions of belligerence or gross favoritism.

The Irish people would remain supportive of Brazil while the government would opt for impartial neutrality in hopes that all would be well in the end.
