A member of the coaching team under the banner of the Olympic Athletes from Palestine namely Coach Qaaid el-Beydoun had been at the Sydney Olympic Village with members of the Judo team, he was a passionate man from Hebron in the occupied Palestinian territories who had seen members of his own family arrested by Israeli security forces back in his homeland. It was early morning and practice was due to take place and he had decided that now was to make his mark. He made his way to the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre dressed in team uniform and backpack in tow which contained a large kitchen knife obtained from the outside.

Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre

He passed through security after flashing his security clearance pass to the presiding officers, making his way towards the preparation areas where many teams convened ready to begin their preparation. He began the set up for the rest of the team beginning to arrive within the hour, he took in the surroundings with the Israeli team, United States team, Swedish team and the Thai team in the room. There was a small amount of tension in the room as Coach el-Beydoun glared members of the Israeli team up and down which were separated by the Swedish and United States teams. After about twenty minutes of preparation, he picked up his bag and made his way towards the exit but stopped short of the exit and unzipped his bag and removed the sharpened knife before causing bloodshed as he took the knife to three members of the Israeli team before quickly running out of the exit into the main corridor knowing that security was about to lock the building down.

There would be an immediate panic as people saw the stabbing take place. The police were quickly notified by bystanders. NSW Police officers assigned to the complex would begin responding to the scene. Once police arrived they would attend to the stabbed victims. NSW Ambulance Service would be notified and ambulances would be quickly en route. Medics for the numerous Olympic teams there would give first aid to the Israeli athletes. The Police would take this opportunity to search the building for the man. Additional uniformed police from nearby would be called in as the matter targeted to go through the Olympic Security Command Centre and numerous police commands. Mounted Police in the area would also make their way on horseback to secure the outside of the building. A police helicopter would also be dispatched and would hover over Darling Harbour.

Members of the Tactical Operations Unit of the State Protection Group, the elite special operations unit of the NSW Police Force, would get kitted up and would begin responding, though would take at least 20 minutes to arirve on scene.

The call would go through the NSW Ambulance State Command Centre and the NSW Ambulance crews would be deployed as a Priority 1B. At least 4 regular Ambulances would be deployed to the scene along with 2 Rapid Response Teams, 1 Duty Operations Manager, 1 Forward Control Vehicle, 1 Special Operations Team and 2 Intensive Care Units on Motorcycle. Police would provide escort to all Ambulance crews.

The man would filter through the crowds and into various hallways to try and escape, leaving trails of items along the way, the bag in one part of the building and his jacket in another part of the area as he continued filtering through the crowd to avoid detection knowing that the area was being swooped upon with various elements from the various Australian law enforcement agencies. Members from the Israeli Consulate in Sydney would arrive on scene as they began to liaise with members of the Olympic Committee of Israel and would act as a liaison between the Israeli side and Australian side.

A member of the Israeli Judo team was in a bad way as he received a knife wound to the stomach which left him bleeding out but was tended to by medics from the team as well as support being provided from other teams. The news was filtered through to the liaison team who would pass this up to the Israeli Ambassador in Canberra who would inform the Prime Minister back in Israel who would coordinate the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to coordinate with the Embassy to provide support to the family of the victims involved.

The team member with the knife wound to the stomach would be placed on Priority 1A. The Ambulance crews now arriving on scene, he would be put under the care of Intensive Care Paramedics and other paramedics would attend to the other team members who were wounded. Hatzolah Australia, the Jewish community paramedic service in the eastern suburbs of Sydney would also arrive some time after the NSW Ambulance crews. They would ensure the team members were being treated in a culturally responsible manner. They would be treated on scene for some time before being placed on stretchers and loaded into the Ambulances. This was all done under police guard. The Ambulances would take all 3 of the Israeli team members to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, a 5 minute Ambulance ride away in the suburb of Camperdown. The one with the stab wound to the stomach would be critical whereas the other two were stable. The critical one would be moved into the Intensive Care Unit and the other two were treated in the Emergency Department.

Meanwhile at the convention centre, the police would begin a massive manhunt in the complex, uniformed police, mounted police and the helicopter would keep watch outside to see if anybody escapes the complex. The Tactical Response Unit would be sent into the complex and would have their weapons drawn as they moved their way through the hallways and corridors and numerous rooms that were at the Sydney Convention Centre. Suddenly they would find somebody with a knife in their hand of an Arab appearance. Tactical Response officers would raise their weapons and begin shouting.

"PUT THE WEAPON DOWN! PUT IT DOWN NOW! LAY FLAT ON YOUR STOMACH! DO IT NOW!"

Other tactical officers and uniformed police would begin clearing the area of civilians.
